I have worked in the manufacturing industry for nearly 40 years and this is not a stainless that would be used in the dental industry. The material that the pick is made of is either a non heat treated 400 or 17 series stainless, that is if is stainless at all, as it is very magnetic and extremly soft, I bent the pick like it was made of cheap plastic simply by pushing on a piece of foam back by plastic. When I recieved the picks the tips were bent and diffenitly not something you would want anywhere near your mouth. I bought these picks to use as a hobby tool but they are way to soft, could be used a scuplting tool though. Read more
