These clipers are more than great- they are outstanding and don’t hesitate in purchasing them. They allowed me to clip my five month old kitten’s nails in less than a minute. They are high quality, expert craftsmanship, superior materials, and very sharp blades. The all metal design makes cleaning them extremely easy so professional groomers may want to consider this. They fit in my hand very well, which made them very easy to use and comfortable in my hand. If you’ve tried clipping your cat nails before you know speed is important. These clippers are the right ones for speed. Read more

This has made a biiiiiiig difference in clipping my cats' nails. it does take a little getting used to with how the spring mechanism works but once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. cuts like butter and very cleanly. I haven't used the file yet but I'm thinking that may be more suited to a dog's nail. Great value for the price and so far durable. my cat's claws aren't the thickest but the clippers have no issue and the keyhole design means I can safely adjust and clip without hitting their quick. Sometimes the simple solution is the best Read more

These nail clippers are excellent and make trimming my pets’ nails much easier. The large opening handles thick toenails with no problem, and the built-in spring gives smooth, controlled cuts without extra effort. They’re sharp and precise, which means clean cuts instead of crushing or splintering the nail. I always keep stop-bleed powder or cornstarch on hand just in case, but honestly, these are so sharp that the cut is quick and clean. That makes a big difference—there’s less time for my dog or cat to try to pull their paw away, which helps keep the process calm and safe. They feel solid and comfortable in hand, giving good control for both dogs and cats. The included nail file is a nice bonus for smoothing rough edges after trimming. Overall, these clippers are well-designed, work exactly as they should, and take a lot of the stress out of nail trimming. Definitely a great tool for any pet owner. Read more

I’ve tried a few different nail clippers for my pets, and these have been the easiest to use so far. The large opening makes it simple to trim even thicker nails, and the built-in spring gives you good control without feeling stiff or awkward. They feel solid in your hand and not flimsy at all. I also appreciate that the cut is clean and quick. They work really well compared to other clippers I've tried. The included nail file is a nice bonus for smoothing rough edges afterward. Overall, these make nail trimming much less stressful and feel like good-quality clippers. I’m really happy with them, good value. Read more

I expected these to work based on how sturdy they look, so it was disappointing when I couldn’t even get a scrape on my 85 lb yellow lab’s nails with the edge of the blade. The problem is the blades just aren’t sharp enough, and it felt like it would have taken a fair amount of pressure to actually cut his nails, which isn’t something I’m comfortable with from a safety perspective. It should have been easy to cut into the nail, but I truly felt like they would have crushed the nail more than cut it. Sadly, they just didn’t work for us, so I’ll be going back to my old nail trimmers. Read more

These all-stainless, sharp, simple clippers cut easily through my 70 pound dog's nails and are small enough to maneuver that they work for the cats, too. These clippers' strong steep material allows the cutting head to be small and still have a large opening, making the nail's position and orientation easy to judge. That helps avoid cutting the nail too short and hurting my pets. Competent clippers will include properly sized spring to hold them open, ready to clip, without so much pressure that the clippers are tiring to use; these clipper include the spring and add a good feature - a hidden, captured spring that can't become mis-positioned or lost. Other extra items included are a small but very effective nail file and a plastic safety cover for the cutting head. I rated these clippers four stars rather than five because of two issues. These clippers are classically designed and feel very familiar to me after years of handling nearly identically designed spring-loaded diagonal cutters and needle nose pliers used in the electronics industry. Using those similar hand tools I developed the cautious habit - after painful experiences - of keeping my hand away from the hinge point of those tools. When closing those tools, it was very easy to have a bit of skin get caught and pinched hard in the small gap between the tools' arms. These clippers can cause the same injury. For a better understanding, see my closeup photo of that gap area when the tool is open and the next photo showing it closed. Because this results from the basic design of the tool, there is no fix for this issue. The other issue is the very smooth, low friction finish on the handles, which exacerbates the first issue. It's easy for the mirror-finished steel handles to slip in my hand as I'm pressing on them to make a cut. If my hand slips towards the cutting head during that operation the tool can snap shut on my hand, pinching my skin. This second issue can be addressed by covering the handle in some high-friction material such a cloth-based adhesive tape, or dipping them in a liquid plastic coating that's specifically designed for this purpose. I found that the self-adhesive "vet/athletic" tape I keep in my medicine cabinet works for this when I tried it (see photo). With an appropriate price for the very high quality construction and materials, excellent cutting performance, and consideration for the relatively small issues above, I rate this tool four strong stars. I highly recommend these if the buyer is willing to spend a very small effort to wrap the handles for safety. Read more

These are the best nail trimmers I’ve owned! I can’t believe I spent so many years using ones that weren’t spring loaded. I have rabbits, so I need to be quick and need something that can be used basically one handed. These are very smooth to open and close, SUPER sharp, and easy to hold. I maybe wish there was some sort of grip on the handle, but that’s not a big deal. I would highly recommend these. Read more
