Easy to install with two people. Impossible with one unless, you are an Octopus. We were able to install this fixture without frustration. I did read reviews before I bought, it so I had warning about others troubles, with that in mind we were able to eliminate those issues. They add more light than the old fixtures and they look good as well. Great price and good quality. Read more
I’ve purchased three of these lights for my current home, and three for our previous home. I absolutely love the farmhouse style and the blend of white and black. We use vintage bulbs in soft white and they provide ample light for the foyer. We also utilize one in a bedroom hallway. I like that there is no glass, which makes them easier to clean. I only gave four stars for ease of installation because of course with it being a square unit instead of round, you must line up the mounting bracket so that it faces straight in your line of sight. This takes a few adjustments each time and a few cuss words from the hubby. It’s not as flexible as other light installations but well worth the effort. At this price point, this is a great value to achieve a classic farmhouse look. Read more
Beautiful light fixture at a good price. After reading some reviews where people said it was difficult to install I went into it thinking I would have a hard time. I pulled everything out of the box and looked at the very unhelpful "instructions" which is really just a picture and realized it really wasn't that difficult. You screw in the screws which hold up the light into the bracket before attaching the bracket to the ceiling. You can figure out which hole they go into by making sure it lines up with the holes in the fixture. You may need to adjust how high or low they are in order to get the fixture tight to the ceiling. I was also able to adjust where the light went so it wasn't at an angle which other reviewers said you couldn't. Overall I am very happy with these fixtures. I purchased a 2 light one for my entryway and 1 light ones for hallways and love them. Read more
They look very, very nice in my hallways and the bulbs for these fixtures shed a great deal of light. They are well-made and even nicer than I expected to be. I would recommend these. Read more
Replaced a 26 year old, 4 bulb fluorescent light fixture in our kitchen with this. It looks nice, but I need to get clear glass bulbs that put out bright white light to make it brighter. The fixture is fine, but the installation took longer than it should have. 1. Be sure your mounting screws are in the 2 opposite holes that are 2-3/4 inches apart. There are 2 other holes closer together, but the holes in the fixture are 2-3/4 inches. 2. Because the fixture is square, as opposed to a round base that could mount any way, this has to line up properly on your ceiling. Because of that, the mounting plate that screws onto the electrical box on the ceiling did not have slots in the exact spot I needed them to be in order to mount the light squarely on the ceiling. I eventually had to drill a hole on one side of the mounting plate in order to get it in the proper position. 3. Getting the 2 mounting screws through the 2 holes in the fixture is a little tricky. I finally got them through the holes when I was facing perpendicular to the 2 screws as opposed to one of the sides that had the 2 screws in line with each other. 4. And because it's such a hassle to get those screws through the holes, you don't want to have to take it down to adjust the length of the mounting screws. The 2 decorative caps that screw on to hold it tight to the ceiling don't screw on very far, so do your best to measure and set the length of those screws in the mounting plate to the proper length to start with. If they are too long, you'll have to remove the fixture to screw them in further so the decorative caps will hold the fixture snug against the ceiling. I'd probably plan to set them on the shorter side than the longer side so you have just enough to screw on the caps and tighten it to the ceiling. 5. Good luck!! Read more
I love this fixture! All the needed parts for assembly were in the box and instructions were easy to follow. Extra things you will need beforehand are wire cutters, electrical tape, and eye ware to keep the fiberglass from falling into your eyes. Be sure to match up the screw holes with the holes in the fixture first before hooking everything up. I used white E26 light bulbs with this fixture. Read more
So I ordered this light fixture despite the mixed reviews I read about this product. My Husband was able to install this light fixture in less than 10 minutes. He is a pretty handy guy, so I figured he wouldn't have an issue with installation. Before he installed this light fixture I did tell him about the reviews I read, discussing difficulty during installation. After he was finished he did say it was more likely due to new construction or remodeling. Considering we were just replacing our old fixture for a more up to date fixture it was much more simple for him. No cutting into the ceiling or things like that, simple replacement. Overall I LOVE THIS light fixture! We have a farmhouse theme going and it looks great in our mobile home hallway!! Read more
Beautiful light for the money. Looks expensive and built well. Shipping was fast and arrived in perfect condition due to excellent packing! I purchased 2 just to test them out. I love it so much I plan on replacing all my home light fixtures with these! Can't wait to order the larger dining room fixture, too. One dislike, the instructions are poorly written. It took me a minute to figure out and thanks to some previous experience with installing other fixtures I was able to install the first one in about 45 mins. After I got it figured out, the 2nd one went in flawlessly in about 15 mins! Read more
