I purchased this mat to put by the side of my bed incase my little maltipoo dog were to fall, they’d be ok. Buy this one. Fall mat for elderly or kids, we use it for kids, cause toddler started climbing on couch. Made in USA. Quality, looks nice, will definitely stop a fall. Folded in half its 8 inches thick, to get a 8 inch mat in the same length is over 300 dollars. 2 of these next to each other to equal the length of a 8" fall mat would only be 200 something dollars, instead of 300. I got two of these, one for either side of my father's bed. He's fallen on them a few times now and they've protected him from injury. (He has gotten scrapes and bruises from rubbing against his partial bed railing when he slides out of bed, but that's not the fault of this pad.) Our hospice nurse raves about these and wishes more of her patients had them. I like that they are easy to pick up and fold in half, so that we can quickly put them out of the way when it's time to trasnfer my father in and out of bed. Read more
The foam in this mat was far less than what I would consider high-density. It would not protect someone from falling out of bed with a hard surface below (ex. tile or hardwood floor). The material that this is made of is nothing more than a soft foam. Plus, beware that they are not offering a free return policy. They are charging a 20% restocking fee (assuming they agree the product is unused and in new condition). I am returning this product immediately. It was nicely made. Size and cover were good, however, I just don't believe this provides protection when a fall should ocur. I am returning it. Read more
This mat has been great for my grandma! It’s soft enough for if they fall but not so soft that it will roll their ankle! We tuck it under the bed during the day and pull it out at night. Read more
