The second I pulled it out of the box, I could feel the difference – the metal tubes are lightweight but solid, no flimsy plastic joints anywhere. Assembly was honestly foolproof. Everything just clicks together, took me longer to open the box than to build it. The fabric is that tight, heavy-duty mesh – you can see in the photo how it's woven super close, no loose threads for a determined mouth to grab. I purchased two dog beds and my GSD each weighing 80 & 85 lbs love them. One of the dogs was able to chew through some areas, but the other bed is fine. For reference, I already had one elevated dog bed before selecting this one. I now have one for each dog, and this version is easily my favorite overall. My first elevated bed took far longer to assemble than expected, so I put off setting this one up. Once I opened the box, I realized I had been overthinking it. Assembly took just a few minutes. You simply screw on the four legs and it is ready to use. No wrestling with frames or complicated steps. In terms of size, the sleeping surface is comparable to my other elevated bed, with the main difference being the lower elevation. The slightly lower height makes it much easier for my senior dog to get on and off comfortably. At the same time, it is still high enough that my Roomba j7 can clean underneath without any issues. Since the legs are positioned only at the four corners, there is nothing blocking the vacuum and less opportunity for hair to collect underneath. The aluminum frame feels sturdy, and the fabric has a slight stretch to it. That stretch makes it feel more comfortable and supportive than the stiffer, plastic-like fabric of my other elevated bed that feels similar to the fabric on many pool furniture cushions. It also seems more forgiving when dogs shift positions or hop on and off. My main concern is long-term practicality. The fabric appears to be permanently framed, so replacing it down the road may not be straightforward if anything happens. I am also planning a move, and while this bed is easier to assemble than my other one, it cannot be fully disassembled and folded flat. Transporting it will require a bit more care to avoid snagging or tearing the fabric. Value: The current price is $199.99 USD for the 48.4 x 32.7 x 7 inch size.
