Daily face shaver here with very sensitive skin. Got into double edge safety razors a year ago and was really pleased with the money savings and shave. Always held onto my Gillette for lazy days when I didn’t want to do my whole shave routine. The Benchmark finally convinced me throw the Gillette away. Wow! I have purchased lots of different safety razors from Henson, Mekur, Rockwell, Leaf, etc. and this is the first time I opened one and just knew I'd found an evolution that took these all on. Even though I can get a great shave using any of my safety razors I still always liked the disposable ones due to the spring loaded head. It just makes shaving so fast and essentially fail proof. That said, the prices for disposable razors are simply insane. The Proof is the ultimate middle ground between disposables and safety razors. It's a brilliant design and I absolutely love the pivoting head. It works so effortlessly and is just as fast as disposables. The best part is, unlike so many other safety razors, replacing the blade is so fast. You can tell this thing is the result of listening to their customers. I'll probably be back to buy another in a few years but you can tell by the quality nobody will ever HAVE to. Smoothest razor I’ve ever used. Blades matter; used some cheap blades I had one hand. They were rough. Tried the Proof blades that came with the razor. Much better. Next will try the Derby blades they recommend for closest shave. It took practice and still learning. How you hold the razor and engage the head flex matters, especially getting the edges; sideburns, under the nose, around the lips. I love the way it floats over the face and over the jaw line. I was skeptical about this as I've used a Mach3, 4, 5 type razor for over 20 years. Hands down the best, easiest shave of my life. Pair with good shave lather not in a can and you're set. I use the Clubman Pinaud products. I don't ever leave reviews, so this is a winner. Read more

Stop thinking about it and just get it. I got this for a Christmas gift to myself. I have always used a DE razor and I have always gotten razor burn and irritated skin after. Just thought that was part of the deal. I just tried this out for the first shave and I didn’t know my face could be this smooth. Hit it with the alum block after and I got zero feedback. The only thing I’ll say is it took 3 passes but that is because I had about 4 days growth. That’s not a knock on the razor, it isn’t meant to cut through a long scruff, instead it’s a daily driver.
