This is a great entry level propane torch. I've been wanting one of these for a while so I've been price checking ones at different places. This is the lowest priced entry I've seen, although. It would be nice if it had the igniter and propane flow mechanism in one trigger, but for entry level this isn't bad. This one you have to turn on the flow with a knob and then ignite it with the trigger mechanism halfway down the tube. Due to the low price though, I don't have an issue with that, just pointing it out in case that feature is important to you. The grip is made from a hard plastic and seems durable enough, I mean, it's just a grip, but again what I'd expect at this price point. The knob for the gas flow works fine, although it would be nice if there was a detent click when it's in the off position as a verifiable affirmation that the gas flow is completely stopped. You just turn it til it stops. The igniter works just fine too. I grabbed a can of Coleman camp stove lpg locally and it screwed right on, no issues there. Turned the gas flow barely on, hit the igniter and it fired up on the first click. turned up the gas flow and the flame intensified. Works great. When I tried it out it was snowing so I immediately went to some snow accumulating on the grass and it melted it as soon as I was 6 inches or so from it then started killing the grass/weeds below the snow. This thing works. It's definitely conveniently sized for light duty work. I mean if you've got a lot of grass, weeds, snow, ice, etc to tackle you'd probably want a bigger one or one that hooks to a bigger tank. You could get an adapter for this one to attach it to a bigger tank for sure, the instructions even point that out. For the money, this one can't be beat though, I think.
