Ok, so things I love about these replacement plates: They are streamlined and make the PS% take up less overall room in the entertainment center where it lives. The extra vent cutout in the side allows for SO MUCH more airflow that my PS5 stays much cooler than it used to. I run Fallout 4 pretty heavily modded and I used to get the overheating warning all the time (had to keep a vornado fan pointed at it to keep it to stop that). Replaced the plates with these and I have never had the warning again, They are easy to remove for cleaning. Read more

Let me start out by saying that the material is not as rigid as the original, which makes i lt slightly more flexible and hard to just lay down and slide to install on the PS5. The cutouts are a little sharp and uneven, and the fit isn't as good as the original plates. The material overall is nice and of decent quality, with a smooth matte black color finish, but it does seem a little cheap, like the same plastic you find on those clear containers with plastic lids you find at a dollar store or Walmart, or a textured plastic piece of lawn furniture. Having the vents for additional airflow and cooling along with the unique design for the ventilation makes these worth considering as a customization choice, but be aware that they are not 1:1 as advertised, but they are pretty close. If cooling isn't an issue, and you like the original design, then I would not worry going through the trouble of getting these on, as they are not even, and one panel is slightly taller than the other, and doesn't look flush with the PS5 front gloss, and it looks like it's slightly bent outward on the top of the console, that you can squeeze it to try to make it sit even against the front gloss but it won't stay flush because of how flexible the plastic is. I was expecting this to actually maybe be a little bit more durable than stock, but third party accessories never meet the expectations like OEM parts do. Another issue, is that it wobbles a bit on the stand, so it's definitely not 100%, or better than the original. IMORTANT TO NOTE: These are extremely difficult to get on, that you almost certainly WILL end up scuffing your PS5's inner-case and possibly stripping your PS5's holes where the plate hooks go into. The plate for the disc slot side is next to impossible to put on, and you really need to use your imagination to get it in place if you feel like it's laying down but not sitting in place, and it keeps popping up from one corner or the other as you're trying to slide it. It takes a lot of force, and you want to make sure every single hook is lined up, and both sides are somehow pressed down including the middle, which is almost impossible to do when you can't see under the plate which flexes on both corners. For the price I think it was worth it. It looks like a fresh new PS5. Install seemed a bit harder compared to its original faceplate but nothing too difficult. Another like is this one doesn't have the top ends stick out, it curves with the PS5 for a clean look, the added vents are a huge plus on both sides. The color is more dark matte with a smooth finish & no fingerprints left behind if you're handling it. This new faceplate doesn't have the added Playstation symbol at the corner, no biggie. I keep my vertically and no issues with that either, the stand sits just as it should. Overall I am satisfied with this purchase, I wish they had more color options. Read more
