*** update*** This has lasted me years and it’s still looks great and works wonderfully. After every use, I clean it thoroughly and let it air dry. This is a wonderful product. It does feel a little heavy and I am nervous that I may break it. It feels like you’re holding a clay pot so you it does have some weight but so far it’s been doing an excellent job taking care of my feet in between pedicures appointments. Very simple and quality construction of the pumice stone. It fits comfortably in your hand. It's not slippery when handling and comforms to your hand for ease of use. The coarse side effortlessly breaks down the area (rinses clean with water) and the smoother side creates a very silky smooth surface on the skin (rinses clean) as a final touch. True that this pumice stone (really terra cotta clay) lasts forever. It does not disintegrate during use. HOWEVER, if you drop it on a hard surface like bath tile, the handle will crack and fall off. Mine only last 1-2 years because they eventually get dropped when my hands are wet and slippery or I knock them off a bath shelf accidentally. But I keep buying them because they are a handy shape and effective and probably do last years in the hands of people less clumsy than me. Long-handled pumice stones are a great idea but they are very prone to coming off the handle during use. Read more

It works well in the beginning, but it gets dull quickly. Only survived a few months of regular use. If you have very delicate feet and are comfortable replacing it all the time, it's not bad. If you want one that works AND lasts, this is not it. Read more

So I didn’t really have grand hopes for this product because nothing I’ve bought has ever made my feet as smooth and soft as they look and feel after a professional pedicure. I bought it simply because the handle on my previous product broke, and I was in need of a replacement and liked the idea of an ergonomic stone. As I’ve aged - I’m in my mid 50’s - my heels especially are a constant source of annoyance to me. However I’ve noticed much younger women with the same problem, so I think it’s great for any age. I’ve tried numerous products from “diamond” coated wands to natural pumice stones to sugar foot scrubs to metal rasps (they look like a lemon zester - the worst!) and they’ve been successful only to a limited degree no matter how long I rub and scrub. After using this one time, my feet felt and looked wonderful! I couldn’t believe it! I think the key is that the one side is rough (to remove the worst of the offending skin) and then the buffing side smooths away the skin that the rougher side has loosened up. It feels very comfortable in the hand, making it easy to maneuver. Two tips that I’ve learned from professional pedicures that I do when using this product, so these might be part of the success. First, I let my feet soak for several minutes in warm water (I do it while in the tub, but you could do it toward the end of a shower or even in clean pan of warm water) and I buff WHILE THE FEET ARE UNDER WATER. It creates less “bad” friction and aids in the sloughing process. Second, I always follow up with a decent lotion after lightly towels drying my feet. The company includes a sample of a cream which is nice, but any good quality lotion will work. Bonus: I don’t know what it is about this particular stone, but it feels marvelous on the skin - like the feeling you get when someone gives you the perfect back scratch.
