We have been using this water filter for years and we are very much satisfied with the product. We live in Florida and the direct tap water is very hard, can't drink it. This filter literally changes the taste of water from weird to sweet and soft. It filters fast so we don't need to wait longer. I infact use the filtered water for cooking too, can't take any risk for my family, lol!! It's easy to install and the jug is sturdy too. One filter last upto 2 months. The best part is the indicator lights that tells you, when it's time to change the filter. The filter comes in a pack of 3 and 4 which lasts upto 6 to 8 months long, so no stress of purchasing it frequently. Overall it works best and my family is loving it! 5 stars to this product Read more

I debated about this. The pitcher is easy to use; easy to keep replenishing; fits nicely on the door of the refrigerator. Clearly a five star product. But if anyone has figured out how to keep the water from leaking all over the floor when you use the pitcher, please tell me! I go for weeks without any issue. ("Give it five stars!" says my inner rating voice). Then, without warning, the blasted thing dribbles water all over the counter and the floor as soon as I turn it up to pour. ("Grrrr! It doesn't even deserve one star!" says my irate inner voice.) I've tried waiting until all the water has drained from the upper chamber (the most obvious source of leaks). I've poured slowly. I've poured rapidly. I've poured while holding my breath. (Well, I've not tried that yet, to be honest). But at totally random times, and for no apparent, consistent reason, this thing loves to gush water everywhere. Still, the water is good and filling the thing is easy, so my benevolent inner voice won the argument. For now. Read more

I've been using the pitcher for about a month now and it works fine. I was skeptical at first based on the reviews of how "easy" it was for the handle to break but it's really not. Breaking a handle is not as easy as people make it seem. This pitcher is large, 11 cups so of course it will be able to hold a lot of water weight. Just don't be stupid and ever SOLELY hold it by the handle because of course, at that point it's going to break. Your putting the entire weight onto the thin plastic piece. Just always use two hands to use and pour it. One hand holding the side underneath the handle and another hand on the side of the spout and when you pour, most of the weight should be on the side opposite of the pitcher from the handle. For these big pitchers, you really shouldn't be holding the actual handle ever, even with using 2 hands. Just hold underneath the handle, holding onto the actual side of the pitcher. It's very simple, it's not rocket science. Aside from that, water tastes great as well and I have had no problems with the indicator light after a month of use. [Update 2/14/19] After using this for half a year now, I have had zero problems with it. The people that broke their handle made the mistake that I mentioned above and that's the only way I could think of that would have it break so easily. After 6 months of use and not being naive in thinking that a small plastic handle could withstand the weight of an 11 cup pitcher full of water, it's still as perfect as when I purchased it. Fill it up as much as you want, just use two hands to pour if it's really heavy and keep most of the weight on the hand supporting it from the BOTTOM. If you're pouring water with one hand strictly from the handle or you're only supporting it from the top while pouring, then it's your fault that it broke to be honest. A few times, it can withstand, but if you're doing that every day then of course it's going to snap eventually. Read more

I am alergic to limescale in tapwater in California. I used to buy water bottles for drinking water, which are over-priced, heavy to carry, and bad for the environmen because of the use of plastic. I reluctantly switched to filtered water, and wished I had done this much earlier. PUR's water filters, especially the lead-filtering one, are of top quality and I have had no alergic reaction to the filtered water. The taste is great, especially if the filtered water is kept cold. Not to mention, you save A LOT of money compared to buying water bottles, whose price include recycling fees. My only complain is, as others have mentioned, that the handle is weak and samll given the weight of the container when filled full. The fix is to grab the pitcher using both hands - one on the handle and the other on the bottom of the container. This way, I have never broken the handle so far. Also, do get the lead-reducing filters. They filter very slow but very effectively. Read more
