I wasn't sure about these but I needed something different as the water pressure was low after a couple of weeks with a different filter. I have a lot of sediment from my well and so far (over a month) and the pressure is good and the filter seems to be working great. It does explan a bit once wet which I was concerned about but it seems to be fine. The price is right and seems to be filtering great. If I have any issues when I change the filer i will update. Excellent water sediment filters. These are much cheaper than buying them from our plumbing supply store locally. They work well in trapping smaller particles and are easy to clean and change out. Read more

This works very well on our water well and lasted us a full 3 months. It fits the usual whole home filters without any complications. If your water flow is low with another filter or even with a new one of these, then you probably have a a clogged up water filter head (where the clear filter housing attaches), usually due to mud. You might be able to clear it with running water into a 5 gallon bucket held under the filter head with the housing (and filter, of course) off. If it doesn't clear up after 4 buckets or so, you probably have a clogged up filter head and will need to replace it. When it's time to replace the filter, I fill up the bucket repeatedly until the water is clear. I next clean the bottom parts of the head with a Clorox Wipe and then use a Water Pik to spray that area including the discharge port under the head. Whether that helps to prevent clogging of the filter head, I don't know, but I doubt that it hurts to do this. If you need a replacement filter, the good news is that you will then have a backup housing, gasket and wrench, allowing you to have it ready for the next installation. Although the new filter will come with a very small amount of silicone grease, you will want to purchase a tube of food-grade silicone and use it to grease up the rubber seal on all of its sides. That makes the gasket nice and slippery, which really helps with installation and removal plus it minimizes the chance for leaking around the gasket, which is usually caused by binding of the gasket when its dry.
