I was looking for a bland, fragrance free, simple moisturizer for after some laser skin treatments I had done on my face. A few were suggested to me and this one had the best reviews so I thought I’d give it a try. This is working very well, the consistency I really like because it’s not too heavy or greasy and absorbs into the skin nicely without leaving any white trace. I also have a tendency to break out with anything and this has not broken me out at all. I’m in my 50s and I will continue to use this even after my skin has healed because it’s working so nicely. I have actually been using purpose face moisturizer for decades, it used to come in a square glass bottle. The spf has varied over the years. I recommend it for young skin, ie, teens, because it is light, non comedogenic, is not an "old lady" face moisturizer, has sun screen in it, which if you are using other acne treatments, some can make skin more sensitive to sun. It has been a consistently good product, and although often hard to find in less populated areas, is worth sticking with. I am not a person of color, so I can't speak to causing paleness or grayness to skin. It does rub in well, and so I would guess not, as some sunscreens can, but can't say for sure. Read more

I had been using Bare Minerals moisturizer for the past 8 years, but they changed their formula and I started having skin issues. I'm in my 50's and have been told by estheticians that my skin is that of a 30 year-old. My skin is neither dry nor oily, but if I use the wrong moisturizer, my skins DOES get oily and starts breaking out immediately. So, I began the long and disappointing search of finding a new moisturizer. I tried everything from expensive to inexpensive with no luck. One day, I stumbled upon two (2) different articles on the internet recommending Purpose Dual Treatment. It was so inexpensive I couldn't believe it would work. But, it was so inexpensive I figured I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did! This is a luxuriously thick lotion and little is needed. It also contains a small SPF of 10. I've been using it for about 3 months and am happy to report it works. It keeps my face soft, but not greasy or oily. I've had no breakouts. My make-up goes on smoothly and actually stays on longer than before. I raved about it so much, my 24 year-old daughter tried it and switched over. And my skin is looking great! Read more

I have worn this moisture lotion for many years, ever since I heard about it during a presentation by a dermatologist who recommended it. I believe it is every bit as good if not better than the high priced moisture lotions in department stores. I love the consistency of it that goes on smoothly and the fact that it does have protective sunscreen in it. I, like many others, was confused when I noticed the SPF 15 designation was no longer on the boxes and I searched for it, thinking the SPF 10 might be an older or different version. In reading some of the reviews by others, I now understand that maybe the lotion was always SPF 10 while the box said it was higher. While a little disappointed that I'm not going to get SPF 15 from this product, I will nevertheless continue to use it, because I believe in the quality and results of the product. I also love the fact that this lotion is unscented. I have never understood why most cosmetics, anti-perspirants, and lotions need to be so heavily fragranced - with each scent battling for supremacy. This lotion does not cause blemishes for most users and will help keep your facial skin smooth and supple if you use it under your makeup daily and avoid sun exposure. (I also use it on my neck .) I used to get Purpose at Walmart but when they quit stocking it in the store, I had to get online. I've tried the other moisturizers that don't contain perfumes, but Purpose is the lightest, smoothest, and my favorite. Dermatologists will recommend the other well-known brands so I assume the doctor's office get kickbacks. When they mention these other brands, I say I use Purpose and they say, "Purpose is good too". You bet it is! And the price is better than the competitors. what I like best is that it isn't too thick and goes on smoothly. Some of the other brands have pumps tops that don't work and the lotion is too thick. I'm sticking with Purpose. Read more
