These fit together perfectly and offer just the right amount of cushioning for my small home gym. My gym is carpeted, so to provide more stability, I put down a sheet of 4'x8' plywood. I placed these mats on top of the plywood. This combination provides stability over the carpet for heavier lifts and plyometric work, while being cushioned enough to lie on directly for mobility, yoga, and pilates. Also, unlike horse stall mats (and similar products), there is no smell. In addition, I wanted 32 sq ft (8 mats) of coverage to completely cover the plywood, preferably without extra panels I couldn't use. This was one of the only options that came in this size! And, surprisingly, the price was lower than other packages, even those with fewer mats. So happy with my mats and my home gym. Read more

We were looking for a good puzzle gym mat to put in our workout room. This ATX 4'x6' mat is good for our needs. The pieces fit together well, and the outside edge has an extra piece to make it smooth on the edges. The feel of the mat is of very dense foam, which offers the right amount of cushion for lifting, but is not spongy or springy at all. I really like that your feet stay put, and do not slide around during my workout. It looks great and fits the style of my workout room. I did trip on the mat once, and would have preferred the edge to be gradual rather than straight up and down, but it is not a deal-breaker and I see that it looks that way on the advertisements, so this was not a surprise. I did not notice any smell when first opened like some reviewers have mentioned. The only issue is when I measured it, it was only 1 inch not the 1.25 that is advertised.
