This is a chic and flattering skirt! The fabric is a stretchy, soft, and smooth faux-leather. The underside has a fuzzy, fleece-like texture, and the shorts underneath are stretchy, thin polyester. They feel very similar to athletic shorts. The stitching is done very nicely throughout the entire skirt, and there is a 2.5 - 3 inch slit on the left side. The back has a metal zipper that’s thick, durable, slightly wide, and easy to hold and zip up and down. I measure 32 inches in waist, 45 inches in the hips, and I got this in a size L. The size chart put me at a medium for my waist, but an XL for my hips. I went with the L to get the best fit. It fits comfortably loose at the waist, and isn’t tight on my hips. The skirt has a bodycon look on the sides, but is looser underneath the butt and on my lower stomach. It’s extremely flattering, though you can see the slightest bit of a stomach outline in the front. I am 4’11” and the hem comes about an inch and a half above my knee, with the slit starting at my lower mid thigh. This was nearly impossible for me to zip by myself, so I did need help with that, but that’s only because of the position of the zipper, and not at all an issue with the zipper itself. This faux leather skirt/skort is so sexy on my body, I should have it in every color. The fit is true to size, the shorts are a larger fit than the skirt (or it could be the fabric - which is polyester blend, stretchy) but shows nothing when you zip the skirt in the back. The waistband is a true banded style, no elastic, but beautiful non the less. The zipper in the back does not have an additional hook and eye, which I really prefer, but since I can't zip it myself, you will need help zipping it as well due the shorts underneath, no ability to zip in the front and slide it around to the back. I was actually pretty disappointed in this skirt because I think it's very pretty, but it runs on the larger side plus it has some stretch. I'm usually between a small and medium, but the only size that was available when I ordered was a medium. For reference, I am 5'9" and 146 lbs. I'd also like to add that I like to wear my skirts higher on the waist. If I drop it down lower on the hip, it somewhat fits, but it's unflattering.
