I needed this for an in-wall bathroom shelf solution over the toilet for a bathroom remodel. It arrived in a well packaged/padded box. There is a protective film on all surfaces which was easily removed. Any residue can be easily taken off with alcohol wipes. The unit itself was (probably) robotically made because I could not find any defects or irregularities. There is a high level of perfections especially on all of the corners (inside and out) where handmade stuff seems to fall short. The dimensions are accurate for installation and it takes into account a nice slip fit into the hole you cut out so make the hole exactly as instructed and it will slip in perfectly. So don’t make the hole bigger. Note: before cutting into any bathroom walls, make sure the exhaust stack is not behind where you’re cutting! That PVC pipe will be within several inches left or right from where the toilet is in a typical American home. So be careful if you’re placing the unit above the toilet. Also once you have marked the rectangle, gently hammer in a thin long nail (1.5 or 2” -drywall will be 1/2” thick or so) at each corner to see if a stud is there (sometimes the stud is warped or crooked). If the nail goes in easy after you get past the drywall, you’re good to go. If not, you’ll need to deal with a stud or relocate the unit.remember, the exhaust stack is near by if you’re placing it over the toilet. You don’t want to make more work for yourself. Use a utility knife. It may take longer but little to no damage will be done back there compared to using an oscillating tool or rip saw. Swap out the blades often to avoid tearing the paper backing. Blades get dull quickly! It is expensive but it is high quality. So you really get what you pay for. Also, it comes it comes nickel which is very cool! You don’t see many stainless steel shelves in that color so it matched my fixtures. The only unknown is if it will rust…..if it does, I’ll update this review. I was a bit skeptical at first when purchasing this, usually making the niches out of tile and utilizing Kerdi. I found this simplifying the process and making a high quality finished product at a reasonable cost. Plus the available finishes make for almost any application complementary on the color palette. The piece felt that it was of a higher gauge quality metal with a higher end finish. I was a bit worried about scratching the finished side, so I blue taped the front until finish (grout) was applied. I noticed some people finished with the lip of the edge exposed, a flush finish is suggested in the directions. I don’t think a sharp edge in a shower area is the best idea…to each their own though. The size fit perfectly due to proper prep of framing and finish behind the piece. If proper prep was done and finished properly, I can see year of enjoyment for any install. The finish is my only concern, but it’s holding up very well so far. I will update if anything changes. Read more

I bought two of these to stack vertically together for my new shower. They are beautiful and super functional. These helped out my shower guy tremendously and saved him a lot of time. I'm so happy I found this. Avoided having to put in tile and all the odd grouting and caulking angles. This thing is perfect! It drains well but still has some standing water. Cleans easily. It holds full sized bottles and feels sturdy. Installation was super easy. Read more
