At its core, it does what it's supposed to do and does it well enough. There are a few odd things, though. Nowhere, not on the air fryer nor the instruction manual nor or the box, is there any mention of the company that made this. No brand name anywhere. The only place it's mentioned is here on this site. To register the air fryer, you need to send an email or an instant message with unspecified "product information". There is a Shake button, but I haven't seen it lit up yet. I don't hang around the kitchen, I'm waiting for the beep in the next room. Or even if I'm still in the kitchen, I'm not watching the air fryer the whole time and waiting. If the shake light comes on, there is no beep that comes along with it, so that reminder is out the window and my tater tots don't get shaken halfway through. I need to set a reminder on my phone for it. Also, there's apparently no need for it to warm up. Instructions just say to put the food in, close the drawer, and set the time and temp. Maybe that's the norm across air fryers, and the one I had before was just different. Anyway, I'm cooking sweet potatoes now and it's taking a little longer than I expected. The air fryer's okay, but it's just weird enough that I can't give it more stars than this. Added 11/7 - I cook some fried fish in it last night and sat there and watched it the whole time. Not once did the shake light come on nor beep, so whatever its purpose is supposed to be, it doesn't do it. Read more
