Had to re-caulk our shower and thought I'd tackle a more permanent option for the nonexistent shelving in our cultured marble shower. These are very nice looking and offer a more built in look than the various other options we've gone through over the years. The installation is not terribly difficult, but prep is key. Make sure all surfaces are clean and you lay out the position prior to getting epoxy on the shelf. I roughed up the smooth cultured marble surface with some 180 grit sand paper and cleaned with acetone. I diverged from the instruction as I did not trust the tape provided to hold the shelf while the epoxy set. Cut some scrap 3/4" ply to about 1-1/2" wide x 6" long and used some shurtape double sided tape to mount these as temporary cleats along my layout line representing the bottom edge of the shelf. Once the cleats were positioned they acted as a support for the shelf while the epoxy cured. Worked well for me. I ended up using Loctite marine two part epoxy. It appears to have a better wet environment rating than the other standard epoxies mentioned in the instructions. Even though I silicone caulked after install, I wanted a little more assurance in the event moisture did get to the epoxy. This epoxy has about a two hour working time and is a bit runny when first mixed, so I let it sit for about an hour after mixing to allow it to thicken as it catalyzed. We recently did a complete DIY bathroom remodel. This was my first tiling project ever and it was overwhelming. I wanted a shelf in the shower, but I didn't feel confident in cutting the tiles perfectly to fit in a traditional one that gets laid in the thinset as you tile the walls. This was a perfect solution! It's a good size for a bar of soap, a razor, and two small bottles of hair product. If you need more storage, I suggest getting multiples. The directions were simple and easy. Clean the tile, clean the shelf, mix the epoxy and stick. We did choose to take a few extra precautions since we are new to the DIY game. We carefully measured where this needed to go and put painters tape above and below the edge of the shelf. This is because you don't want ANY of the epoxy to ooze out and get on the tile. We also cut a wood piece down to the correct height so that the shelf could be fully supported for a few hours while the epoxy cured. Probably overkill - but it hurt nothing to do it. The hole in the shelf eliminates the need to set the shelf at a proper pitch for drainage. It's been in use for about 6 weeks and I never have a problem with water sitting on the shelf. The double-sided tape enclosed with the shelf is not strong enough to hold it while your adhesive cures. While adding painter’s tape for extra support, the double -sided tape let go and the shelf ended up falling to the floor and breaking. Read more

We ordered 3 of these shelves and received one. Cancelled the order and placed another order and got the other 2 within a few days. That was weird. The shelves themselves are fantastic. Follow the instructions for mounting and get the recommended adhesive. You will definitely need to use some painters tape to hold them in place while they cure. Do not attempt any shortcuts. We installed these as per the instructions and they look fantastic. They are super sturdy and have drains in the middle of the shelve so soapy water can drain off. Great, well made product for sure. As far as adhesion, I rated it a 4 because the tabs they give you do nothing more than give it a slight standoff and padding on corners that are not square. Other than that, the adhesive really comes from the product you buy separate. Read more

The good: the shelf looks great once it’s installed. You would never know it was installed after the tile. The bad: the tape is useless to hold the shelf while the glue is drying so you need to hold the shelf up while it dries. Read more

The product is made with good quality. I am little doubtful about the adhesives pads that comes with. Depending on the Tile condition you may need additional adhesive pads. I applied 3 on each side and silicone caulking all around. It is stable for now. Although the product is innovative but it is pricey. I picked this because I did not want to drill hole on Tile. High quality product. I bought 1 8 inch and 2 10inch. They look amazing. Installation was ok. I used the epoxy that was recommended and it works ok. Just make sure to hold it in place for a bit and let it settle in. I am not a professional but I think I did a great job installing it. Highly recommended Read more
