Trying for first time on woven/braided stair treads, that if it slips, a fall would be really bad! Adherence to the stair treads was good and hoping they stick as well (but still be fully removable if needed) to the varnished pine steps. Went on easy and felt secure. Time will tell. Needed something that would stick and not just keep the 'rug' from sliding...good price tto. Read more

this carpet tape has worked surprisingly well on the rug that my cats like to fold up around themselves and hide in. i have included pictures of the criminal and his crime for reference. i am happy to report that there has been no rug burrowing since i put the tape on. also, you know how washable rugs start to get really wiggly on the edges after they’ve been washed a few times and just look *bad*. this gets rid of that. i put two pieces on each corner, and then a piece around the midpoint on each edge as well. since the rug i am using it on is a thin, washable rug on linoleum flooring, i cannot speak to how it holds a thicker rug that has lifted edges or anything. cutting pieces off was something of a nightmare. it was a combination of my scissors not being sharp enough, and the adhesive sticking to the blades and building up that made my scissors jam. i had to stop and clean them a few times. because of that, some of the pieces stuck together and bunched up on themselves, but that really wasn’t an issue. since this tape is so thin, it didn’t cause any visible bumps under the rug. it definitely works for what i needed it for, and i think holding down thin and flimsy washable rugs is the best use case for this tape specifically. also, side note, i did test it’s adhesive qualities on something with a rubber back onto carpet, pretty much exactly what the description of the product tells you not to do. for science. and it is correct lol. it honestly adhered to the carpet underneath decently, but the rubber backed mat peeled away very easily. This product doesn’t even deserve 1 star. I would give it 20 negative stars if I could. This product does not work. Excuse me, it worked for a few days on the rug. Now a few weeks later I decided to move the rug and the tape is stuck. Ruining my floors. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Read more

I’ve used the polymer type of double-sided tape to hold rugs down. However, over time, the rug tends to move from its position. Also, it can be difficult to remove from hardwood. So when I saw this different type of double-sided carpet tape available, I had to order it. I was able to cut my first piece of tape off the roll easily. However, pieces of tape had stuck to the scissors, so when I attempted to cut the next piece, the scissors stuck badly to the tape and it was impossible to cut. Although the scissors were super sharp, apparently the titanium-coated surface caused this problem since using a more standard type of sharp scissors worked fine. Applying the tape to my juke-backed rug stuck very well. However, peeling off the backing was a bit tricky. The tape stuck very well to the hardwood floor and the rug was held firmly in place with tape applied to the four corners. I found the tape to be extremely thin. Although the listing indicates that the tape can be repositioned, I think it may be difficult to do so without the tape sticking to itself. Read more
