Overall, these are a nice pair of pants for rotation in the office. I'd call the fabric midweight - probably best for colder weather than warmer weather, depending on the temperature in your office. I'd describe my build as "short and stout". I ordered my regular size in these pants, and I found the cut to be very generous, to the point I could've likely sized down. Since I'm petite, these definitely fit me long, to the point of needing to be hemmed an inch, to be worn as a traditional pant - they would require more hemming to fit as an ankle pant. The stitching and details on the pants are all executed well. My one real quibble is with the pockets. I usually expect front pockets to be placed somewhat closer to the hip than these pants offer, and the cut for the pocket is at too dramatic an angle, to the point where the deepest part of the pocket is less than an inch from the bottom of the pocket opening, making items likely to fall out, especially when seated. There are faux back pockets - not functional. So, while I appreciate the effort to add pockets, I think they ran short. I've decided to keep them, though I may alter the pockets to be deeper. As a plus sized gal, I'm picky about pants. I own several pairs of Rafaella pants -- they are very well made, sizes are accurate, and the styles are flattering and current. These ankle pants are sized as noted, with good give in the waistband, hips and thighs. I am 5'9"+ and have long legs, so these pants hit my ankles just like the model's does. The straight leg does taper nicely and is flattering on my legs - no clinging or bunching. The stretch tummy panel ends a little higher than I'd prefer: it gently does the job, but the panel doesn't cover the entire front of the belly area. I like the wide, sewn in waist band, the texture and stretch of the fabric, and the pockets (they are sewn closed and I won't open them to keep the sleeker flat line of the front of the pants.) To be honest, I don't wear my shirts tucked in, as I have an apple shape and a tunic or blazer is going to look better on me. I like these pants for the shape of the legs where the longer tops hit my thighs. It's a nice balanced look and looks polished and on trend. Oh, and most important: these are very comfortable pants! They sit at my natural waist, so there's no muffin top or exposed crack when moving or bending. The construction is well made, with double flat hooks over the zipper and double back belt loops. They are on sale at 38% off as I write this review, which makes these a great deal for plus sized gals for well made work pants with a blazer or dressing down for errands and socializing. At 5’6” I consider myself average height. These are absurdly long, in fact, they were too long to even be slacks. The fact that they are listed as ankle pants, and the entire reason I bought them, is simply not true. These are not ankle pants. I would have to take 5 to 6 inches off to make these ankle pants. They aren't too tight and they fit true to size. I was worried because most Amazon clothing buys especially when it's something for the curvy/plus size girls the fit is way off. I normally end up ordering a size or two bigger than what I need. These fit me perfectly and I ordered the same size I would reach for at a store to try on before buying. The ankle is a tad more open than I though they would be and while the stomach area is high waist it's not super sucking you in slimming high waist, it's just high and sore of form fits to my tummy. It's not the most flattering thing in the world but I still like the pants overall. Read more

I appreciate the gabardine material these pants are made with - no wrinkles! They are somewhat lightweight and probably a good option for spring and summer. At 5'5", the length was slightly longer than I expected but still did sit right below the ankles. While the slimming panel is a nice feature, it feels a bit constrictive. I imagine it all depends on where a person carries their weight, and these would work well for someone with a smaller mid-section. Overall, they are nice pants and perfect for wearing to the office.
