I love this laptop bag. It's easy access to your ipad/laptop, has ample room for bringing along extra papers/tech and has an exterior zippered pocket (bodyside) for EDC stuff. This isn't my first Rains bag. I got this one because they do such a nice job combining style and minimalism with an ultra mod look. Their bags, this one no exception, denote seriousness of intent. You're not going to this meeting/day at the office to look busy, you are busy. You have... stuff... to do. I'm a little perplexed by the canvas spots on the side. They're subtle, but the sheen and texture of the material change and can catch the eye. Another deviation from some of their other bags is the shoulder strap. It's not the shiny seatbelt material. It's grittier and more matte finished. The laptop sleeve inside is best paired with a dedicated laptop covering with it's own padding. Padding is very minimal. RAINS is a very modern and chic brand, I've walked by their Brooklyn location in Williamsburg countless times and have always found their design eye-catching. Which isn't to say their designs loud, if anything, it's quite the opposite. Their clothes and bags tend to look best in dark hues, giving off very futuristic utilitarian look that I am a big fan of. This messenger bag immediately stood out to me, it fits my macbook comfortably and the water proof nature of it makes it the perfect piece to have to protect your electronics. I've used it on a few occasions when it's been raining, and the waterproof effect is top-notch. My computer remained dry, as did my notebook and other smaller gadget. The bag is can also fit quite a lot deceptively, it seems compact due to the color and material, but can stretch quite a bit and fit a fair amount. Like other RAINS products, the material is always soft and waterproof. This bag is quote large, so if you have accessories or anything, it will most likely fit. I was able to fit my small 13 in laptop, Owala water bottle, and some other small items. It's nice space wise, but I wish the strap was more longer for my comfort. Read more

This will be a great waterproof laptop bag for my college student, who will be walking to class in all kinds of weather. It's incredibly good quality. There is a large back pocket with a waterproof zipper that is so tightly sealed when zipped that it's almost hard to detect. The inside of the bag is padded front and back, so it's perfect for carrying a laptop and other tech. There's also a large slip pocket inside that's lined and padded for a laptop. The flap provides waterproof protection for the main compartment, though the zipper on the main compartment does not have the same kind of waterproofing seal as the outer pocket zipper. I hope it will provide enough protection to the interior compartment in a downpour ... I think it should be ok unless it's a monsoon. The entire bag is quite well designed, but minimalist. The hardware is black and has a heavy metal clip to hold the flap closed. It's a basic design, but very functional, and impeccably manufactured. The strap is adjustable, which is ideal for commuting to class or work. One thing it doesn't have, but I wish it did, is an outer pocket for a water bottle. But that's ok, plenty of room inside for a well-sealed bottle. Great bag, my kid is excited to bring it with him to college when he starts in a few months. Read more
