This was the easiest transition from a regular toilet seat to one that is sturdy and about 3 inches higher. My petite elderly mother lives with us and has bad knees. This elongated toilet seat not only fit perfectly, it was sturdy and very smooth and the lid portion is very lightweight! Our old one was heavy and if she bumped it the lid would slam down noisely where this one is lightweight and has the soft close mechanism so it's very quiet. The other thing benefit is that she is about 4 foot 9 inches tall, so many raised seats are too high for her to use.
