To start with the belt was shipped in a paper mailer, and when I opened it, the package was all smashed. (see picture). I have purchased several ratcheting belts. I like these belts for versatility. All my belts are size 34 to 38. I wear 36 and they fit me perfectly. At the end of the belt it had a 40 on it. It would be more like a 32. On these belts, the buckle comes off and gives you the opportunity to cut a couple inches off. If it’s too big it looks like somebody already did that on this belt (see picture). As a comparison, I laid my belt next to it, the light colored brown belt, and you can see the difference. Needless to say, I will not be buying this belt in the future. Order a size larger than you think you'll need, because you trim them to fit anyway and they seem to be much shorter than the listed lengths. The size I ordered is to accommodate up to a 34-inch waist. Well, I wear 31-inch pants, and the belt is barely long enough to register in the first ratchet. So there's no way it would fit someone with a 32-inch waist, let alone 34. Also, the packaging is just a thin bag that doesn't protect anything.
