My bar came today and I washed a mess of dishes this afternoon with it. At first, I thought the box smelled super strong. Oddly, though, it actually wasn't as strong once I opened it. The scent was pleasant - very much like rosemary eo but not headache-inducing (as I first feared). I expected it to not get all sudsy and instead be more like old-fashioned dishwater (like a bluish-gray "cloudy" looking water). It was as expected in that regard and that's fine with me. Suds look and feel nice but aren't really what does the cleaning. I lathered the bar a little in the water and put some on my washrag. Didn't take much. I suspect that it softened up my hard water, being more a soap than the detergents commonly used these days. It felt like things were coming cleaner easier and I was better able to scrub out the hard water spots some dishes seem to hold on to. It's only Day 1 but, so far, I'm loving my dish bar! We'll see how long it lasts compared to the liquid I was buying and guesstimate affordability in the long term. Love this is plastic-free, so I'll likely keep buying it anyway (eco-friendly aspect being counted as its own part of the savings, as I see it). If you're on the fence, it is worth giving a try. I opted to try another brand just because of the delay in availability. I immediately returned to rE: brand. I hand wash all our dishes (3 meals + cooking for all meals) so I look for quality plus value. I get it with this brand. 3 bars of the other lasted me from Dec 5 until Feb 13 (just over 2mosnths). My bar of rE: citrus however had lasted me from June 17 - Dec 4 (just over 5months)! Best is that it cuts grease well. Don't get me wrong this is not Dawn or any other high-powered grease remover soap. Anything super bad or with stuck on food I will soak with the soap first, simply run it under running water or lather in hand and swish into the water. There won't be major bubbles, it will be cloudy, but it works. My typical is to run my palm brush around the top and then scrub my dishes without the brush being in or under the water. I use a round bamboo bar holder so I allow the water that runs down to stay and then I will pour this into any pots or my slow cook to soak as well. Smell is light and natural not loaded with 'essential' oils or perfume. Absolutely a fantastic purchase if you are looking for natural and healthier cleaning options! No plastic at Ll for those that are focused on green. Read more

The media could not be loaded. What I like: - I’m a holistic health practitioner I went live with this on my store front and explained in detail why I’m trying it and the ingredients are amazing so a higher price makes sense for truly safe ingredients - the smell of the cinnamon is amazing! It’s the best one! - it’s suds up very well and a little bit truly goes a long way. People who don’t store their wet brushes on top, use the loofa under to air it out and don’t use too much, won’t go through it quickly. - it cut through grease very easily for us when we tried it What I dislike: - the sizes very, some were much smaller than the others - the original had no scent which isn’t described, The citrus almost smelled like nothing, and the rosemary smells like a faint cucumber, but when you buy it in the four pack box, the cinnamon overpowers all of them and I can’t tell if I just got an old batch and none of them have a good scent or if the cinnamon overpowered everything and I have three basically unscented bars and one cinnamon bar, if you love a good scent like me, I would just recommend the cinnamon. - their quite small which I love for backpacking but not for my kitchen where I don’t own a dishwasher, so teaching my family and friends that a little goes a long way is quite tedious. If there were large size options like a large cinnamon block I’d be soooo happy! Read more

Little too pricey for how quickly is it used up. The soap has a faint pipe smoke scent that I did not find displeasing but did take some time to become accustomed to. It suds well and cleaned better than I expected. My dishes were squeaky clean, however if I let them rack dry they would be covered in spots. As was my stainless sink, it was covered in hard to clean spots. I will say my hands did not dry out while using the soap, and were actually soft. The packaging was wonderful without any use of plastic, which is something I strive for and why I want to use bar soap. I was not expecting the soap to be as thick as it was, I was pleasantly surprised. I even had to slice it down the center to make it easier to handle while washing dishes, however even with the how think the soap was, I would have expected it to last longer than it did, especially for the price I paid. Even being ethically and environmentally friendly without it being also economically sound I can not justify a better rating. Read more

Love the zero plastic and the safe ingredients. The loofah sponge makes a great stand for the soap. Read more

I was very excited for a dish soap with a smaller carbon footprint. The box it came in was compostable and the product itself was supposed to last longer than liquid. Though this can get your dishes clean it takes a lot of product. I tried going from bar to scrub brush then directly to dishes. This made me feel like I was going through the product very quickly and caused me to waste more water because it was constantly running. So I switched to lathering soap under running water to fill my sink and then doing my dishes. Doing it this way the soap did not lather properly just made cloudy water which I could get past if it's still cut through the grease on my dishes. This was not the case. I would have to go and rewash dishes two or three times to make sure everything came off soaking your dishes was completely pointless and any glass comes out cloudy. This is not from letting my dishes sit either I do my dishes everyday after dinner The longest a dish sits is maybe 9 or 10 hours from breakfast while I'm at work. Read more
