I'm not sure who recommended this product to me, but a friend or someone mentioned it and I thought I'd try it. They'd said it was better than basic string floss. I couldn't find it anywhere in two different local drug stores I happened to be in not long after that conversation. There was a whole rack of floss, but no tape. So I was wondering how great it could be if major retailers don't stock it. Of course, you can find just about anything on here so I got some. I personally like this a ton better than sting floss. It's easier to manage and I think it does a better job. I've got both typical dental issues as well as some bridge work. This stuff is fine just regular or if used with floss threaders for getting under bridge work. Read more

I was running low on my previous Dentotape, which is no longer available from previous suppliers. There has been much discussion about comparisons of the older Dentotape and varieties available here on Amazon. I have both the older variety and this newer variety in my possession as I write this feedback. Here is an absolute comparison you can go by: Both are packaged in nearly identical "white" plastic containers. The Older Dentotape is white with a shiny finish. This Newer Denototape is white matte finish. Both have the Johnson & Johnson stylized name logo molded (raised lettering) on the bottom of the container. Older Dentotape: Text on the side of the container: "Johnson & Johnson, REACH, Waxed Floss, Soie dentaire ciree, 732305" Newer Dentotape: Text on side of the container: "REACH, Dentotape, UNFLAVORED WAXED TAPE, 30025116 The newer Dentotape is noticeably thicker and more substantial than the older dentotape. As far as strength of the Dentotape, the only basis I have for comment is that my teeth are "tight" together so I need to use Denotape to floss because regular dental floss just breaks and tears. My older Dentotape still occasionally tears or breaks. I floss every day. I have only been using this Newer Dentotape for a little over a week, but it has not yet frayed, torn, or broken. This floss is preferred over many others, as it feels good, no rough surface layer or odd cross-section shape, and is good at what it's supposed to do. It can be doubled up for the wider gaps. The roll-out mechanism and ease of cutting to any length are very nice features. However, I have bought many 6-packs of these and have found that occassionaly the spindle gets stuck and stops spinning, preventing any further floss from coming out. Opening the cap, I found that in every case the reason was that the winding of the floss on the spindle had gone wrong, so all kinds of knots and anomlies had developed. Generally this could not be fixed by manual unwinding, so that the remianing floss is not usable and had to be discarded. I would say this happens in about 1 in 20 units. Despite that, the cost, including the lemons, is still good value, considering the other beneficial features. Read more

I am known as the dental floss queen. This is by far the very best and strongest floss I have ever used. By chance, i found the floss when I was at the store. The next time I went shopping, I was going to stock up on it because it worked so wonderful. Unfortunately, stores no longer stock it, I found it online and stocked up.
