This is my first bottomless portafilter so while I need to adjust my grind, amount and pressure to get a good pull of espresso I will simply review the product as my first few pulls were way out of range for a good pull. I have a Breville BES870XL and the portafilter fit perfectly. Not too snug. Comparing it to the included portafilter it's similar in size and length of handle. The comfort of the design and wood is good. The included filter basket was hard to pull out and I tried to insert my existing breville 2 cup filter basket but it was too tight. So while not all 54m basket will fit every portafilter I was hoping this would be interchangeable since it fit the machine well. Of note is the handle at first use came slightly unscrewed when tapping out my first puck. My current one (included with machine) has lasted for over a decade so only time will tell on the longevity of this handle. Read more

The filter basket causes the coffee to spray out and much misses the cup....but I have other filter baskets, The holder is strong and well made, fits my Breville Bambino well and really look great compared to original equipment. The wood handle gives me better leverage so it's easier to use. The handle is easily unscrewed from the metal part. This really dresses up my machine. I would have taken off a star from the sloppy coffee spray...but I like it too much. Read more

This portafilter is a game-changer for my daily coffee routine. The natural rosewood handle feels amazing in my hand, and the stainless steel basket is easy to clean. I love that I can see the coffee extraction process clearly, and the reduced coffee grounds make for a cleaner and more consistent taste. I wanted to try a bottomless portafilter in my Breville Bambino + so I got this one. It's ok but not perfect. Made really nicely, the handle can be unscrewed if you need to really give it a good cleaning and you don't want to ruin the wood. However, when I used it in my Bambino +, there was a fair amount of spitting out the side even though it seemed to fit the machine pretty well. I repacked a puck and tried again with the same results, so although it could have been user error, I think it's just not a perfect fit for my machine. Made well, just not a great fit. Read more
