This scale genuinely impressed me from day one. Setup is simple, and the quiet mode is a great touch no unnecessary beeps while dialing in espresso. It automatically turns on when a cup is placed on it and auto-tares, which makes workflow smooth and distraction-free. What really sets this scale apart is how much data it provides. During a shot, it tracks time, weight, and flow rate, and after the shot it continues displaying the final numbers for about 10 seconds before returning to standby. That small detail is surprisingly helpful, especially when you’re focused on the extraction and want to log results afterward. I started using it to explore flow-rate-based espresso, aiming for under 2 g/s. My first shots were flowing too fast (around 3–4 g/s), but after grinding finer and dialing in to about 1.3–2.0 g/s, the difference in taste was very noticeable cleaner, sweeter, and more balanced. Being able to see flow rate in real time makes adjustments much more intentional. Battery life is solid as well. It charges via USB-C, and a short charge (around 30 minutes) already gave me plenty of use. Overall, this scale feels well thought out, accurate, and extremely useful for anyone serious about espresso or brew control. Easily one of my favorite coffee tools right now, and I’m excited to keep discovering more ways to use it. Highly recommended for home baristas and coffee nerds alike. ☕️ Read more

I am new to the world of espresso, but not new to the world of scales, including precision scales (reloading is a hobby of mine and scales that can read down to a tenth of a grain are common place… for reference, there about 15.4+ grains per gram). Prior to ordering this scale, I was handling my espresso grind dosing with a common kitchen scale that treads to the gram. My results were a bit inconsistent. I ordered this scale and started playing with the dose and found the roughly 18grams I was using was close, but found my results went to a new level when I started hitting 18.6grams. Just the ability to fine tune to tenths of a gram have been amazing. The scale itself is aesthetically pleasing. With a clean black look and included mat, it looks really sharp. That said, I usually just leave the mat on the scale and tare with it. I was afraid that might cause some interference in reading with the friction on the sides of the scale, but thus far, it has not proven to be the case. For functionality, I have only used the standard weight function, but as my journey in espresso continues, I’m certain the time & weight functions will prove useful. The scale has some nice features, like coming on when it detects a weight. The controls are easy to actuate. Tarring is a snap and the battery has been charged once so far and has been used for weeks now. As far as accuracy, I did let my other scales warm up after turning them on, calibrated them, and weighed a few small objects on each to get agreements on weight and then weighed the same objects on the espresso scale. It seemed to offer consistent readings with what my other scales showed. The only spots where things get a touch sketchy are on weights that fall between tenths… add 5 hundredths to the scale and there wasn’t a lot of consistency on whether it errs to the next tenth or not. But at that point, we’re probably getting into territory where 5 hundredths of a gram would make an imperceptible difference to most, including myself. Overall, I’m really liking this scale with one exception…. Price. It is listed at $40 and currently available with a coupon to bring it down to $34. I believe that to be quite a decent price for a scale with the feature set that it has… BUT… the exact same scale can be found on Amazon with just a different brand name on it for well under $30. This is the scale I have been looking for. I have a couple other cheap scales that are kind of useless when measuring smaller amounts of foods and spices, but this scale is extremely precise. I’m very impressed. What they got right is making this scale perfectly sized to fit below an espresso machine, assuming you are using an appropriate sized espresso cup. I usually measure the weight of the beans before I grind them, but it’s also helpful to measure the final product for consistency. In either situation this scale works great. The thickness of the scale is a little on the thick side, I imagine certain espresso cups and certain machines might not accommodate for the thickness. But in that case you can always remove the silicone cover for a little more space. The silicone pad fits over the scale and keeps liquid from spilling onto most of the scale, and keeps the cup from scooting away while the espresso is brewing. It keeps the numbers exposed so you can still read the weight of the espresso. I think the silicone cover is a nice touch and I’m glad they included it. I realize that the scale is waterproof, but I feel better with the pad on for a little added protection. The LCD type display is bright and very easy to read. The button interaction is simple and so intuitive I didn’t feel like I needed to use the instructions. It’s easy enough to switch from grams to ounces. The display if far superior to any other scale I have used in the past. It charges with usb c and I’m very happy that I don’t have to have another cable type in my kitchen. I didn’t have any issues charging my scale with a fast charger. Overall I would say that the scale is worth the cost if you are looking for precision. If you just need to get in the ballpark of a measurement, maybe this one isn’t right for you. Considering the number of scales I have purchased trying to find a precise scale like this one, I would have already spent the amount of the cost of this scale. So yeah I think it’s worth the asking price. It’s a really premium scale and I think it’s the one to buy. 5 out of 5 stars. In the images, the old scale will not even read the weight of a dime. This scale does a great job at even low weight measurements. Read more
