The pitcher is lightweight, easy to put together, and dishwasher-safe, which makes everyday use and cleanup simple. It works fine for smoothies, shakes, sauces, and other light blending. Soft fruits and liquids blend without issues, and it can handle ice if you add enough liquid and don’t overload it. It’s not meant for thick frozen smoothies or heavy use. The downside is that the entire thing is plastic, and it definitely feels that way. Time will tell how well it will hold up with it being plastic. I just wish it were made with better materials. It's an uncomplicated, mid powered, large capacity blender at a good price point. I've been using it for smoothies and it gets things done in a snap, no fussing with a ton of settings. The pitcher easily locks securely to the base, and the top locks onto the pitcher, with a convenient opening for adding more ingredients mid-blend. I was amused at the instructional pamphlet calling counterclockwise 'anticlockwise', that just tickled me. Assembly and washing are a breeze, there are only 3 (4 including the stopper for the hole in the lid) components. I imagine this would make a great "baby's first blender" for someone like me who is a n00b when it comes to kitchen contraptions.
