UPDATE: 3 stars to 5 stars I contacted the customer service by going on their website and letting them know what had happened. They responded super quickly and sent out a replacement one after confirming with me the model that I had. It was super fast and simple. Took maybe 5 days in total for the email and for the replacement to get here. The new one works great. I'll just have to be careful this time. Also attached a photo so you can see the damage on the first one I dropped. Got this electric lighter maybe a month or two ago. Works great, but I dropped it onto the floor the other day. No more than 3 feet and something inside broke and fell out. I think it's one of the plastic covering for the two metal prong. Since then it hasn't work very well. Sometimes it doesn't light up and sometimes it does then shuts off. Just a little disappointed that it breaks so easily Read more

I love the longer handle so I can get into my deeper candles. The battery life is amazing for a single full charge. 2 of my kids say that they can hear a really high pitched sound coming from it when I am lighting something, but it isn't as noticeable to me (lol). My first one lasted about a year I believe... but I am on my second one now :) It is definitely worth the money. Read more

The product deserves a top score. Kudos to the engineers and designers. I gave them a 5, but the people who packaged the lighters and created the Amazon ad and the “User Manual” would get a big, fat zero if I could write them up separately. When the package arrived with my two silver lighters, I was impressed, but I was surprised by the lack of an instruction sheet or any useful information on the packaging. So I went back to the Amazon listing because, I’m a little embarrassed to admit, I couldn’t get the lighters to work. And the answer was in the listing – sort of: [Dual Protection]: At the bottom there is a safety lock, only when you push the lock to the right side can you use the lighter. That was all I needed to get the lighter to work, but it’s not quite accurate. You can’t push the button to the right (or the left). You push it in. And it times itself out in a few seconds. Good feature, but not well explained. That made me think that there had to be some sort of instructions in the little box the lighters came in. So I shook the box, heard a rattling sound, shook the box a bit more, and out popped a little piece of paper entitled “REIDEA User Manual” folded to 3cm wide (about 1.2”) and 8cm high (about 3.2”). Fortunately, it unfolded to 9cm wide (about 3.6”), but the height stayed the same. And, printed on this petite document was a “Product Description” (in five different languages) and four tiny “How To Use” drawings (English only) to help confused purchasers like me. Unfortunately, the written “Product Description” made no mention of the safety switch at the bottom, but the “How To Use” illustrations came to the rescue – sort of. Step 1 shows a finger pushing the switch at the base of the lighter to the right to turn it on, and Step 4 shows that finger pushing the switch to the left to turn it off. That’s the switch that I had to push in to operate. The other two drawings show how to use the slide switch on the body of the device and how to light a candle, but, if you didn’t already know what to do, they probably wouldn’t be much help. So, bottom line, a big thumbs up for the product, and a big “Are you kidding me?” for the packaging and paperwork. Could I have said all of this in fewer words? Yes, but I didn’t want any complaints about inadequate paperwork. Read more
