Customers find the bottle opener works well, with one mentioning it accommodates both large and small prescription bottles.
Others complain this does not work, but I've found it works great with large and small prescription bottles. The key is to use the sticky mat that comes with it on a counter under the prescription bottle , and to apply pressure through your palm as you twist the blue part, don't try to pinch the blue part as you twist the lid off. I don’t know exactly what negative reviewers are referring to as “RX bottles” and “medicine bottles from the drug store,” but I’ve managed to open every CVS prescription bottle that I’ve considered opening with a hacksaw. I wonder if they aren’t aware of the need to press down while rotating the opener. It also helps to put the bottle on the sticky red circle that comes in the kit to keep the bottle firmly in place. That works for my arthritic hands. And the magnifier really does illuminate and magnify! Brilliant design. It earned my 5 stars. Read more
Its good but you still.need hand strength to hold it down while opening the bottle. My mom doesnt have that strength so its doable for her but with effort. Read more
My mom has some arthritis this really works and the magnifying and light built in is a bonus. She really liked it more than any of the other gifts a jar opener which that works very well too. This was the thing my sister also thought was cool. Read more

I’m using Siri to write this so please excuse any strange words or phrases. I purchased this for my sister-in-law who has had MS for many years and as she gets older, she has more and more difficulty with things as simple as a pill bottle and has to ask my brother or her children for help I gave this to her and so far she has had great success with it And keeps it in the side drawer by her kitchen table so that when she gets the new bottle she can simply open the stuff up with little effort, so it has been a successful present. This was a waste of money. Does not work on any medicine bottles from the drug store. Fact is we haven't found anything it works on, does have a good magnifier and a cute little led light. Read more
