I dropped the stance by 3/8 inch.. and shortened the rear axel to bring back wheels in 1/4 in.. I gave it an Army NATO Tri-colored camo.. Marked with 534th MP Military Police unit markings. This turned out to be an amazingly fun RC truck. It's my first rock crawler type RC vehicle, I'm mostly used to the RC racing trucks in 4-wheel drive for off road. After that I do have some of the regular Rd. racers and some of the drift racers, but I had not yet purchased a rock crawler when this one popped up. First thing I'll say is that it looks stunning. It is a great scale model and looks really cool just driving normally, albeit slowly, throughout the yard. I'm going to have to find an action figure to put on top of it so he can man the gun. But overall, the details the fit the finish the colors all of those things are really well done on this vehicle. Performance wise it's a blast because I'm used to going fast all the time and this is about as slow as it can be. But it does inspire you to set up challenging courses in the yard, either piles of rocks and grass or just a variety of whatever. I happened to live on the edge of a forest so I could find branches and trees to play with. I have been to RC stores where they have a specific course for this set up and I'm sure it would be great to take it there. The controller is about average, it feels cheap if you're used to having a dedicated and expensive controller from one of the major manufacturers. But the controller does work and respond well and didn't stop from the fun. This would definitely be fun for kids but just as fun for adults. The truck seems quite durable, and I expect it will last quite a long time since it won't see any high speed crashes.
