Here's my honest review of the Renpho solar powered body fat scale after one month of use: Reading consistency ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Body fat measurement ⭐️⭐️ Battery performance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ App ease of use ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Size ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Esthetics ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ TLDR: don't trust the body fat readings but still looks and performs grear, no batteries required The Great So far the battery life has been excellent, staying at 100% charged with indirect sunlight and about once daily use. I'm looking forward to never having to change a scale battery again! Some reviewers are complaining about having to physically switch the scale ON each time, that is false. You turn it on once and leave it on. It wakes up when you step on the scale and auto connects to the app. The weight measurement is similar to my previous scale and seems to be pretty consistent I love the baby weighing function (great for pets too!) The Not So Good Based on other reviews and for my own knowledge, I went and got a Dexa scan to compare the readings. Unfortunately the body fat measurement is way off. I'm talking about a 33% discrepency (29% from Dexa and 20% from Renpho) If you are someone particularly muscular, heavy-boned or "skinny" fat, or if you are some super athlete looking to dial in on your muscle/fat ratio, the body fat measurement from the Renpho scale won't mean much. In the end I decided to keep the scale because it still works well as a weight scale, I like the solar charging, and the numbers still serve as some measure of progress for me. Cheers! Read more

This works great. The best part is not having to ever worry about batteries. It lives in my bathroom with just one tiny window and it's always charged. It never receives direct sunlight. The indirect sunlight is more than enough to keep this thing at max charge all the time. So glad I replaced my old battery one with this one. The screen is bright and lit up and very easy to read at any time day or night. The app function is fun if you're really keeping track and provides a lot of information. Excellent replacement! It works, especially the solar panel as long as you keep it clean. Bathroom gets indirect sunlight, but it’s enough to get two suns on the unit and keep it charged enough to work each time. Not sure how long the battery will last (ie. charge/re-charge cycles), but if I get maybe 5-10 years, that would be great. We’ll see! It’s smart enough to turn itself off to conserve energy, I really appreciate that! In terms of accuracy, I think it comes in a little lower than reality, but it’s accurate enough, maybe off by a pound or so, and that’s more likely because of the tile surface that I placed it on. It’s not perfectly flat, but it’s definitely flat enough. In the grand scheme of things what’s one pound, it just has to be close enough and it certainly is. You can count on it. Lots of extra data that my ancient scale before simply did not provide (it literally only provided an accurate weight measurement and that was it, and that company went out of business years ago). This one gives you so many extra data points that I honestly don’t even know what to do with it all. I have finished testing five different smart scales on Amazon. I returned all but the Renpho Elis Solar 2. 3 were returned because the apps did not work on the iPhone 15. The GE scale had a good app too but the scale was off by 50% and I had to return. I'll be keeping the Renpho because it: Has the best of 5 smart scale apps, it is very easy to set up and worked immediately. The scale is light powered so no batteries to add and check! being a first time owner of a Smart Scale, I find this one works fine for me. I like the price. I bought it to only check my weight, but the other information it has is interesting. As long as the weight stays consistently accurate, I am happy. So far, it has. I have only had it for a week. The app is easy to use and adds additional users easily enough. I am not puting any data on-line, which is an option. It does not need to be in bright light (Solar) to work. It works fine for me. Read more
