I've always been annoyed that the Braun toothbrushes sold in the USA are only 120v. I've had to carry a converter when traveling internationally. In this day and age of cheap chips, being able to have a 220/120v charger should be standard. So, despite the negative reviews, I bought one of these. It works on 120v and charges probably a little BETTER than the original 120v chargers that came with the toothbrushes. It seems to give a BETTER charge to the toothbrushes. The downside to this charger is that it gets a bit hot. The original chargers do get a little warm, but this one gets very warm even on 120v. I haven't had a chance to use it on 220v yet, but it has so far done about 6 charging cycles and still seems to work fine. If it ends up being durable, it is a great find. Read more

I bought this for an upcoming trip overseas to make sure it would work with the higher voltage systems there. It is lighter than the original.
