Great if just replacing for cosmetic purposes - Hinges are TIGHT
Overall this product is what it says it is and fit my middle schooler's laptop perfectly. My only complaint is that the hinges are TIGHT and I suspect we would have been replacing them again in the future or had problems with them like other reviewers stated which is why I gave this three stars. Also some of the replacement screws were too short and we would have needed to replace with additional ones - even though the kit stated it was compatible with our child's laptop. I could definitely see this causing issues with cracked screens or opening and closing a laptop in the future. I did try to adjust the tension on the hinge, but this was also a task. I purchased this kit to replace what I thought was minor damage to the back cover, bezel and broken hinge. Upon opening the laptop and starting the repair the work was too extensive and too much damage done from supposedly "just one drop" that we decided to go the route of a new laptop instead of trying to repair. (Yes, we also tried the repair shop who quoted us the cost of a new laptop.) Read more
