Nice little weather band radio good quality loud. Read more
After testing this radio the weekend I received it, I have started carrying it with me every day in my backpack. This is the smallest radio I’ve found which includes the weather band. I'd recommend going slowly when tuning to give the radio time to "lock on" to a station. Tuning can be a bit finicky because of this, but once it does acquire a good signal, the red LED lights up and the radio stays on that channel and doesn't "drift" like some other analog pocket radios. Reception on the AM and FM bands is respectable while the telescopic antenna is extended. Battery life seems good as I left the radio on all night with 2 AAA rechargeable Eneloop batteries and it was still going strong in the morning. The main reason I chose this radio was for weather receive so I could tune into my local NOAA Weather Radio station during periods of severe weather. It didn't disappoint as I was surprised to find that the weather band could pick up not only my local station, but also high-power stations up to 75 miles away. Note that this radio does NOT have a weather alert feature. You can tune into a station and receive alerts, but there is no alarm built-in to wake you up such as what is found on NOAA weather alert radios. As an FYI, weather radio channels 1 (162.400), 4 (162.475), and 7 (162.550) are the high-power channels with smaller local stations using the other 4 channels. Read more

I like the size and build quality of this radio, but it's reception is pretty weak.. It does pretty well with AM, but not so good with FM, and even worse with NOAA.. I would recommend getting something like the Prunus J-166 instead. FM - 5/10, AM - 8/10, NOAA - 2/10 Read more
Great little pocket size radio! I just received the Retekess PR15 small pocket AM/FM/Weather radio. This radio has a great narrow band, so you only hear the AM or FM station you are tuned-in (Other AM/FM radios bleed in other nearby station frequencies out of the receiver into the speaker - bad filtering!). This radio has a small speaker (while many small radios nowadays offer only earplug jacks), but the receiver circuit and speaker gives crisp sound for music and talking (News, Weather 162 MHz band). It is not a stereo (twin speakers) FM radio, but sounds pretty darn good anyway! The receiver picks up many stations and is now one of my better AM/FM/Weather radios. 24Jan2024 UPDATE: I just bought a set of 8 new re-chargable AAA batteries (from Amazon) for cost savings with this PR15 radio, which gives me plenty of charged backup AAA batteries when away from home. I do the same (AA re-chargable batteries) for my small ham radios and devices. 26Jan2024 Read more
***Note: Nobody paid nor given me anything for writing this review.*** The only other radio I own is a Tecsun r9012 and wanted something that was even smaller to keep in my pack for hikes. The AM band picked up every local station in my area (Phoenix) during the day, and was able to pick up stations over 800 miles away (Dallas TX and Lexington NE) after the sun went down. I live in an apartment complex with a lot of variables that cause interference, but this little radio doesn't seem to miss a beat! The speaker is loud. The sound quality is what you would expect from a radio the size of an altoids tin. It's more of a luxury just to have one on something so small. The FM band works well and the headphone jack will double as an antenna which is a nice touch. I was surprised to see a radio with weatherband in this price point, and it does what it's supposed to. I will probably buy more for friends and family. Update: Got a hold of their customer service team after having problems with the reciever. They responded fast, and were able to send out a new one within a few days! I still give this radio 5 stars for its price, ease of use, and portability. Their customer service department deserves 5 stars as well! Read more
Mine came with the power button rather than tuning, but I prefer that. I can tune it with my ears, but the volume and power button is combined, so it's possible for it to be silent but still on. There's a click when you turn it on/off, but still. See my photo for how small this thing is. A very personal, satisfying radio. The tuning dial is in a recessed panel on the side so it doesn't stick outside the frame. You can put it in your pocket and not worry. I don't have AM's this rural, but I got a weather band easy. I might get a bigger radio for my new apartment, but this one is coming with me when I go on a walk. Read more
