I only kept this heat gun for a matter of minutes so can't attest to its longevity. It seemed fairly well made and put out a good amount of heat. Unfortunately it also put out a ton of smoke for at least a minute until I turned it off and put it back in the box. This heat gun is not appropriate for indoor use due to the smoke. It's also absolutely gigantic, well over 15" long and and wider than a soda can in the middle part. I can see this being useful for someone who has an outdoor project. While it does not get hot enough for window tinting, this heat gun works amazingly well on Vinyl wraps and decals and is great for removals too. The shape is really comfortable to hold and is not too heavy for longer jobs. The prop stand is handy for keeping the hot tip away from surfaces, but not bulky or in the way while using the tool. I use Vvivid products (along with several other lines) every day and do several installations a week and have been using this tool for 2 weeks with no hiccups thus far. Smelled really bad when first turned on. Literally had outside apartment when first turned on. I knew they have some weird coating so smart me turns on and sets out side. Little wind outside and somehow enough smoke got in and made my smoke detector sing the song of dying angels. So now I think ok let it cool down and get my smoke detector some fresh air and see what happens on highest temp. Well the smell got worse. So I stood outside and held the Chinese Heat Tool pointed away from apartment for about 3 mins. Let cool down and smelled for any bad odors. I think I just got used to the smell. So Buyer Beware Use In We'll Ventilated Areas and Away from Smoke Detectors. Other than that it's mostly plastic so I wouldn't drop this if I was some youtube diy tool tester. Use appropriately because the shape and the stiff cord don't really keep it still even if it does have a flimsy stand they have in the pictures. It's too long to use if you are a thinking of using this for construction jobs. It's awkward but I only got it so I have a backup when my main heat gun gives out. I really wanted a battery heat gun. Thought I was getting that and not this. But the box it came in is already in the dumpster and not smelling like the bad smoke. Good luck. Read more
