The Rexing V1-4K Ultra HD Dash Cam camera sets up quickly using the clear instructions provided. Make sure you format the SD card in the camera. (Avoid the temptation to reformat the card in your computer to clear the videos after reviewing them. Just delete the videos you don’t want. If you do, just reformat it in the camera again.) I installed the camera behind my rearview mirror and because the camera is so small it is barely noticeable. For me the most noticeable feature of the V1-4K Ultra HD Cam is the sharp clear picture, day or night, in comparison to other dash cams I am familiar with, and also the very wide angle of view the camera has. The wide view takes in a lot of your surrounding so not much is missed all while the picture remains sharp and clear. A very clear picture will be needed if no witnesses are available and you have an accident. My family member had a car turn left across her path and they hit head on. First thing the officer asks, “any witnesses?” The G-sensor in this camera will lock and save the video without the driver having to do it. It is a very important feature because at the time, with the shock or potential injuries, you won’t have time to think about it. I also set up the camera WIFI feature after I downloaded the Rexing app. It opens up a lot of options for settings while you are parked or a passenger can use it as you are traveling down the road. It also makes it easy to send videos directly to your phone wirelessly. I have had this Rexing V1-4K for one month and I am very pleased with the purchase. It has a lot of features for a very reasonable price. I would recommend and insist this camera to anyone and especially to family members to protect them in potential liability cases. It is very easy to give this camera 5 stars because it is a great camera with great features. I am ordering the Rexing Intelligent hardwire kit which connects the camera directly to a fuse box and also has the feature of a motion detector when the vehicle is turned off and parked. If anything moves close to your vehicle this sensor detects it and turns on the camera. Part number PE-D6VA-M26R I am also ordering the Rexing rear camera for the V1P-4k. Part number RC-V1p-4K. The rear camera plugs into the side of main camera and will automatically record front and back views. It comes with a very long cord that will easily reach your rear window and the rear camera also has a 170-degree view. I plan on updating this review when I have these two items installed. Also, I like how the videos are broken down into segments when you are reviewing them. It allows you to find the specific section of a video you want and save just that section. UPDATE: The V1-4K has a plug in port for the rear camera but it doesn't work. I had to send it back. Rexing uses the same body on the V1-4K as the V1P-4k but on the V1-4K it is just a dead port. So if you want to have rear camera also, don't get the V1-4k get the V1P-4K it will come with the camera. Also, over time I have found that: Use an Extreme or Max micro SD card from SanDisk. When the vehicle is parked in extreme hot and cold temperatures the regular micro SD cards malfunction. (I have 5 Rexings) Then you can't get into the programming menu without recharging the battery which is in the camera. I take mine out and put it on a wall charger. It seems when I do this in the vehicle it won't stay off to so the battery can charge. Also, in settings, have the camera turn off when there is no car power. That way your battery won't drain like it does when you set it to stay on for 1 minute or more after the power is off. Rexing customer support is fantastic and responds quickly. I replaced my Viofo dash cam with this Rexing 4K dash cam around a month back and it didn't disappoint me. I installed it with Rexing hardwire kit. I generally use time lapse in parking mode, so can't say much about G-sensor. But I have seen it detecting the event when the door is closed too hard. I use it with Samsung evo 256 GB micro sd caed without any issues. 4K really shines during daytime. 60 fps makes the video smooth. Night time is somewhat grainy. License plates of other cars can't be read unless you're close. I've also seen it struggle with glare at times when sun is at a particular angle. I found wifi functionality not so great. The app is not so great. the connection is not stable. The speed is poor while transferring the large files (they are 4k, remember?). I'd rather carry a usb-c card reader to connect micro sd to my phone. In general it's a decent cam with crisper quality on budget. Not too fancy with bells and whistles but would record the incident and have your back in case you have a "bad" day. I'd say it's more reliable than the one I had earlier. Read more
