I switched to wearing mostly leggings (they count as pants!) after having several medical procedures on my abdomen. I have numerous shorter boots, but could never find knee-high boots to fit, as I'm a vegan with thick calves. Shopping is a challenge as most boots are either leather or made for thinner calves. I was so excited when I found these boots that I bought them in summertime in Phoenix heat. They arrived promptly and fit when I tried them on. I immediately put them in my closet and awaited the day it was cool enough to wear them out. It's now getting chilly at night and I went to put them on for their first night out and ran into a slight problem. I put on thick boot socks and suddenly the fit was so tight, I didn't want to chance wearing them out for too long, least I end up with blisters. This doesn't warrant removing any stars, however, as the boots still feel fine with regular socks, but I'm not sure how comfortable I'll be wearing these boots to work if I'm on my feet a lot. The thicker socks that I wear with my other boots help cushion my feet. In hindsight, I should have ordered 8.5 instead of an 8. Still, an excellent boot for an excellent price. Read more

I just got the taupe suede boots today. They are inexpensive and beautiful and I love them but you should always size up in Boots so I wear a 9 and I sized up to a 10 and they are perfect for thick socks. I wear a size 10. After reading reviews, I ordered a 10. Got them, tried them on, wasn't sure if I loved the fit of the 10. Ordered an 11. WAY TOO BIG! These should work for wide calves, and the 11 was just way too wide on me. The 10 is a little narrow on the sides of my feet, but I liked them enough to keep them. I've worn them twice and love them. The pocket inside the right boot is a cool feature but too small to be utilized for much. Shipping was quick, returning the extra pair was easy.
