I had black rice at a sushi restaurant initially and learned how incredibly nutritious it is so i bought this one. It’s got great texture, a bit of a subtle nutty flavor and was easy to cook in my rice cooker. I will definitely be repurchasing again. Read more

Very good quality black rice with a great flavor. Very, very black and will cause soups or other dishes to turn very dark if you add it to something else. I dont mind that at all, but others might. Read more

This is almost the forbidden rice I wanted. The nutty flavor isn't there but the taste is still great. Takes some time to prepare compared to white rice but it's worth it. This black rice is not the forbidden rice that has the nutty flavor. I still like this but will buy the real forbidden rice next time. Read more

This is a much healthier alternative too Brown Rice. Cooks up easy-drop in boiling salt water. I made it with Cuban Black Beans tastes exactly like “Moro” with just a few ingredients. Perfect texture- tender, flavorful and adjusts well to other ingredients. Yikes,Tariff price gouging. Purchased for $8.99 a week ago …. $14.99??? Read more

I love rice and this is the best tasting rice ever. It cooks up flaky with grains separate and not starchy at all. The flavor is unique and difficult to describe but absolutely delicious. I was delighted to see RiceSelect package this product in a larger size as I will continue purchasing this exceptional rice. Read more

The jar is so much small than their other products. I saw those reviews stating that - and I only half believed them. But it had a 30% discount so I tried it. The rice might have some coloring added. The water turned brownish red instantly. It tasted fine, but not so much better than other Rice select products that have brown and red rices. It looks cooler in the jar than it does in the pan or on the plate. No special textures such as the Texmati rice that has brown, black, red and white rices. Read more

UPDATE: I have since switched to Lotus Foods 11 lb bag of Black Rice because it is almost the same price and I get a lot more rice. It is also a good product. It was my first time eating black rice, and it certainly felt a lot more nutritious and healthier eating it than the normal white jasmine rice that I eat and buy (that some would say is not true jasmine rice as it is not true Thai rice). When I cooked it in the rice pot, the water boiled over and made a mess. So I later used my Instant Pot to cook it instead, and there was no mess. I used two cups of water for every cup of dry black rice. Tastes good and is healthy. I ordered this brand because it looks like a responsible brand that doesn't ship rice with bug infestations in it. You can see the contents of the rice through the clear plastic container. I will keep my eyes peeled for cheaper black rice, but there is a good chance I will order this brand again because the quality is good and the price is reasonable compared to other black rice brands.
