It picks up very thin small items like coins, thin pieces of paper that other grabbers just can't hold onto. It also works well with larger items and the gripper holds on tight making it much more easy to move things around. I have severe back problems and can't bend to pick up anything that falls on the floor, but with this item I have found a solution that makes my life easier, Don't waist your money on any other grabber as I have used many brands and they have not come close to the quality and usefulness of this item This item is very light and easy to use plus it folds up to store. This grabber is decent for the price. Bought quite a few over the years and they inevitably break due to excessive usage. Usually the "string" eventually gets stretched out and snaps.I have a favorite one but you never seem to get the exact same type each order. They are always slightly different or lesser quality. This one just snaps into place to make one long handle. It works fine. It's not as strong as others. There is some bend when applying pressure. Definitely not as rigid or strong metal wise nor does it have quite as wide a grip. This also doesn't have the little magnetic tab to pick up metal...very helpful for keys and hardware like screws and such. Disappointed in that respect but my fault for not reading and checking the listing. Still good though as this was slightly longer than my previous ones and works as it should..With some gentle care/use, it should last a while. Read more
Initially, this device was heavensent, especially several years ago after surgery that did not allow me to bend over. Then, I noticed that the grabber started becoming wobbly at the joint that is supposed to make the device foldable for easy storage. (Note: I almost never folded it but kept it upright and unfolded.) Today, despite using it only perhaps 1-2 times per week and only picking up lightweight items, it broke completely. (See photos of crippled grabber.) This grabber has worked so well allowing me more independence in daily tasks after my surgery when I was not allowed to bend. I have been using it daily for almost 8weeks. Folding and unfolding numerous times a day. Because it folds it can easily be carried in my walker to have it handy for tasks. It picks up a variety of objects, from tiny items, like a pill, that has fallen to heavier items like a wet towel. It won’t pick up an extra heavy item like a full notebook or glass container but it does very well with most daily items. Highly recommend. Read more

OMG this thing is awesome! I love it!! I got it because I'm short, lol. I can now get things from my higher kitchen shelves (yay!) - as I was waiting for it in the mail, someone left a jacket next to my porch so I went to go get rid of it (it was gross, not a "lost item" situation) only to find the reason it was randomly disposed of was because someone used it as toilet paper.... :/ cooooooool. Now I have a front door that's poo-sweater free, and a very sanitized grabber. This is for of all ages; I'm not sure where the "this is for old people" jokes that have been flung my way came from, but forget that - I don't have a poo-porch my life has become easier. If you buy this, your life will be easier too! You won't regret it. I'll probably buy another one so I have one dedicated to trash to keep in my car and one dedicated to indoor use. Read more
We have ordered many of these wonderful grabbers from Amazon. They work perfectly; however, there appears to be a product defect in that the wire which operates the jaws makes an abrupt turn as it inserts into the handle. Therefore, the wire is subject to increased stress at that point, with resultant breakage of the wire- thus the shelf life of the product seems to be less than a year. However, because they are so inexpensive, I continue to replace them when needed. Read more
This is, by far, the best reacher/grabber I have gotten and I have tried quite a few. It is an excellent design and functional. The extra length is very useful and the locking feature helps keep it rigid for turning on light switches, etc. The rotating head is very useful and it will pick up very small items as well as larger objects like bottles. The only thing I have had a problem with was the release on the catch was a bit stiff to begin with but has loosened up with use. And the price was great too.
