Update: My review stands - hands down best product for cat odor. I promised I would update my review to let you know when I finished off the first bottle. That happened yesterday. Just opened my spare bottle and will be ordering a backup again. It literally takes just a shake in your trashcan and in the drawer of your litter robot (if you have one) and this bottle will last a long time. I would suspect for those that have a traditional litter box, you will go through this stuff a little faster. Best stuff EVER!!!! Original: As every cat owner can attest to, when you have cats - you spend your life catering to their health and happiness. This includes not only cleaning their litter boxes but trying to control the odor that emanates from them. About a year ago, I switched over to a Litter Robot from the traditional open box because I just couldn't keep the boxes clean and therefore the odor had taken over my home regardless of how much I cleaned. I was embarrassed to have guests over due to the smell. The Litter Robot was a godsend because now my cats had a clean place to do their business and the odor in the house was minimized greatly. The Litter Robot does a great job in helping to eliminate 90% of the odor in the house because waste isn't just sitting around waiting to be scooped - it is automatically deposited into a drawer below the machine to await when its time to empty the drawer. Because there is still waste sitting, there is still an odor that can be smelled (especially when you open the drawer to dump it or get close to the machine after the cat has just done its business). The Litter Robot does have a filter that helps - but again - where's there is waste - there is smell. You just can't change that. Or can you???!! I had been searching for litter order control products for some time and had given a few a try but none of them helped one bit. This product got rave reviews and I thought - what the hell. I ordered it and it came in and when I opened it up I finally understood the strong smell that other reviewers had mentioned. Someone described it as a cross between bubblegum and peppermint and I would have to agree with that assessment. The odor isn't unpleasant but it is strong. The first thing I did was toss a handful in the litter box and mixed it up and then waited. After about 2 days I was kind of disappointed. There was still an odor. And then I had a Face Palm moment and realized the waste was in the drawer and not where the litter was, so I opened up the drawer, sprinkled about 2 tsps in the drawer, closed it and waited. The next day when I got home from work and walked into the house, I was so surprised - no odor what so ever. Not even a hint which is what I expected. I walked over to the Litter Robot and again - no odor. I reserved my opinion until after I emptied the waste drawer. I placed a clean bag in the waste drawer and before closing it - I tossed in a small amount of this stuff (I didn't measure just put a little in my palm and then tossed in the bag) and then closed the drawer. I couldn't help myself and went ahead and tossed a little in the litter box as well. When I deposited the waste in the trash can in my garage, I decided to drop a little of this stuff in the trash can as well. My trash bin is only picked up once a week and I have to keep the bins in my garage. With 3 cats, I have to empty the waste drawer 2 to 3 times a week so the garage can get an odor as well (especially in the summer time). At this time, I am 4 days away from trash pickup. Next day, I come home, park in the garage and there is no odor (Yeah!). Walk in the house - no odor (Double Yeah!). Walk right up to the Litter Robot - no odor (Triple Yeah!). The real and best test is my ex-husband. Every time he comes over - he complains about the cat smell. He loved it when I got the Litter Robot because it did a wonderful job of controlling most of the smell but again - there was still a slight odor and he is so "sensitive" when it comes to smell that he still complained. He came over 2 days later and while my boys were getting ready we were in the kitchen talking and he wasn't saying anything about the cat odor. I finally just asked him if he smelled anything and he just looked at me with a shocking look and said no he didn't smell anything. He looked around and said I can't smell the cats - I forgot you had cats. He walked over to the Litter Robot and asked me what the hell I did because he couldn't smell anything. I showed him the product and told him how I was using it and then asked him to walk to the garage. He went to the garage and came back and said he couldn't smell the garage either. Told me I had a miracle product on my hands. THAT did it for me. I finally feel like I have conquered the battle of the smell. I don't have to use much, I just make sure that every time I change the bag in the drawer that I sprinkle some of this in the bag AND every time I change out the trash bag in the garage - I also sprinkle some of this in the bag and BOOM - No odor. The only time I really smell anything is when I open the drawer to empty it but even that isn't as bad as it used to be. I smell the odor but it isn't "IN YOUR FACE" bad like it used to be when you first open the drawer. I feel like I can confidently say this stuff works. I have already ordered another bottle to have in reserve so I will always have this stuff on hand. Since you don't use a lot, I would expect this to last a while but it would also depend on how many litter boxes you are maintaining. I only have one so I expect it to last a while. This helps a lot with bad odors. We use it so the whole room doesn't get stinky and it helps a lot. I think it has good quality and it is easy to use. It gets rid of smells, and depending on when you use it, it prevents smells. I really like this and recommend it. Read more

This stuff works wonders. I just adopted a young adult big boy, and he has big boy bathroom habits. It was bad enough to fill my whole apartment, and I use a covered box with a charcoal filter. I ordered this on day 2 — sprinkled on top and mixed in, then sprinkled a bit more on top. I have not smelled anything all week. Very easy to use, and does a great job. Can’t really even smell anything when cleaning the box. I use scent-free litter and haven’t had to refresh the treatment one time. The Rocco & Roxie Litter Box Odor Eliminator smells incredible! For the price, it's lasted a while and helps keep that fresh smell in my cats litter box. I love that it keeps the litter box feeling clean as well and it's so easy to use! All you do is just sprinkle on the top of it or if you want you can mix it in. Depending on how you feel too, you can either open the cap all the way and dump some in, or open the half cap and sprinkle some in. Either way it works great for the price. I do have to put a bit of it in the litter box to get a good smell going over the litter smell, and that's why its 4/5 stars. But overall, happy with the product. Read more

This is the first litter odor control that I have used that actually seems to work. I have 13 indoor cats and unfortunately, anyone that came through my door, knew it right away. I have used multiple products that left me disappointed. One of my family members recently visited and asked what I was using because it made a tremendous difference. When I first used it, I found that the initial smell was very strong ( not unpleasant) but only in the area of the litter box. It went away quickly and only occurs briefly again after the litter pan was used or when I clean the box. I only need to add it every other week and use approximately one bottle a month. Read more

Wellll, pros and cons on this one. Pro is, it seems to work; it actually cuts down on the active stink by the next day, and cleaning the box is truly less offensive scent-wise. So, good job on that. Con, and this was a significant one for me, upon application the product smells intensely, horrifically, of bubble gum. Why bubble gum? Why, y'all? Bubblegum and cat box are a remarkable olfactory combo in the land of things I wish I could unsmell. The good news is the bubblegum scent diminishes a lot in the next few hours and is not so bad the next day, but it's gross enough that I won't be buying this again. Read more

WOW!!!! I have 2 cats in a small house. My child said they would clean the box every day if I got them. Guess what doesn't get cleaned every day.... ANYWAY!!!!! I got this as a test run. It is a miraculous addition to the litter. You can still tell I have cats, but it is no longer overwhelming and the smell continues to fade. This is great stuff!!!! I use about half a capfull for each litter box. It doesn't mess up the clumping litter I use. It will also last me a bit over a month for all 3 boxes. It is super easy to use and a good value as it reduces the times between a full litter change. I was skeptical when I purchased the first container, but it helped so much , did what it said it would do (excellent functionality) and does help to remove moisture.
