Great Shoes! I was considering getting some Nike's but went with these because I work at Loaf N jug (a convenience store) and there is always water around. The second day I was wearing these shoes I was doing the outside trash. When I lifted one of the bags out of the trash can, it leaked a black liquid across one of my shoes. A man watched it all happen, Luckily that awful liquid didn't get inside my shoe and I just shook it off with my foot and wiped it down. I am very glad I went with these because if I went with those white Nike's, I would have been very unhappy after that incident. The Verdict: They are very comfortable, I stand in them over 8 hours a day and my feet really appreciate it. They are water proof, I encountered water a few times and my feet always stayed dry and clean. They are lightweight, I don't get fatigued from wearing them, usually leather shoes have some weight to them. Overall, they are one of the best choices for work, college and formal wear. Read more

I like these shoes a lot. They are semi-dressy and durable. My only complaint is that the laces that come with them start getting wonky after only a few wears and need to be replaced. Read more

I like these shoes, and they have been comfortable and durable for me (this is my second pair). But they have one major flaw: the sides of the tounge of the shoe and the inside of the shoe that rubs against them are made of soft shiny leather that squeaks loudly when walking. I addressed this by putting powder in the crevasse to stop the friction; this works, but why are they made this way??? Read more

I love these shoes. I’m on my third pair. These have been sold for years by Rockport which I believe also demonstrates that people really like this shoe or Rockport would stop making this model. The top of the shoe stays looking great with just a little polish occasionally. The reason I’ve need to replace my shoes after a couple years is because the sole wears out and the material below the main portion of the sole becomes a slip hazard in wet weather. Read more

Still a good shoe, relative to the harshest of reviews. 10 years ago i purchased a pair of these, and now they look terrible, but their integrity still intact. I had hoped to repeat such a purchase. However, it seems the sole and the uppers are not the same quality they were years ago. The Sole doesn't seem to grip the same, as if it's not as "gummy" rubber as before. It seems like it is lighter and more airy. And it seems like the uppers are not quite as leathery as they were before. When compared to the Rockport Northfield.. Many shoes try to compete HOWEVER, I STILL HAVEN'T FOUND A DECENT REPLACEMENT FOR THE MONEY.. (I am picky when it comes to how shoes fit, feel and look - but am up for suggestions, because this still ain't the best shoe out there, and certainly not the quality Rockport established its name on in 1970's) (Pictured Below - Rockport Northfield.. Merrill Brevard, Merrill Moab, Clarks Centre, Clarks UnWalk) 1. The Clarks UnStructured - shoes have better detail/finish, and their new venting technology exceeds Rockport's, but Clarks are discontinuing the line. 2. Merrill Brevard - shoes are better quality uppers, but ugly as a work boot. (a half size small) 3. Merrill Moab - Appears to look more like a running shoe than a work shoe or dress shoe. (a size small) 4. Clarks Centre - The Clarks Centre Oxford seems to have a nicely finished top grain cowhide vs Northfield's flimsy uppers. 5. Clarks UnWalk - Dress shoe makes the Rockport look plain and stone age with its puffy round nose. 6. (Not Pictured) Many other contenders in this category. For example, Doc Martins tread and style are similar, but quality are heavier and make me walk funny. Hence, not exhaustive comparison, but hopefully you get the point.. There are only so many shoes to choose from, and like it or not, i am still buying Rockports - even if they go chapter 11 this year 2018 Read more

I've had this for months. It looks very nice dressing up or down. The only crappy thing about this shoe are the laces. While the shoe remains pristine, the laces didn't even last a month before they started wearing off. Not to worry, just buy a replacement lace. Regarding this, I've seen enough reviews from other users regarding this lace, so I must wonder at the manufacturers not listening to customer reviews and do something about this little annoyance on an otherwise good shoe. Don't they read this? Read more
