I ordered this rolled ice cream maker pan because I’ve always loved watching rolled ice cream being made at shops and the thought of being able to make rolled ice cream at home just intrigued me. This kit ended up being way more fun than I expected and surprisingly the whole family and especially the kids have had a blast experimenting with different ice cream concoctions • Freezing & Setup - There aren't much in the way of instructions that is included with this kit. Thankfully, there isn't much needed. The most important instruction is actually on a decal underneath the kit. You place the tray upside down in the freezer. I left it overnight. The next day I made two really awesome ice creams. • One experiment that turned out pretty awesome was just some heavy cream, a little whole milk and some strawberry jelly. I mixed this altogether without adding any additional sugar and it made an amazing strawberry ice cream. • The second experiment was using a blueberry powder I bought off amazon and mixing it with whole milk and just a dash of sugar. Another amazing blueberry ice cream win. • Performance - This is almost instant, once you pour your ice cream base onto the frozen tray, it spreads smoothly and begins to firm up within seconds. Using the two included spatulas to spread the mix, roll it, spread it back out again, and continue until you have a frozen treat ready to eat - usually within a minute. • Family and Kid fun - My family and children have so much fun with this kit. It's so much fun! They enjoy watching the process and participating in the fun dessert. • Quality - The stainless steel is thick, durable, and doesn’t dent or scratch easily. It’s definitely not thin or flimsy like some cheaper ice cream trays. It also is super easy to clean - just wipe it down before it fully thaws so nothing sticks. This rolled ice cream maker pan was super easy to use and so much fun. I let the pan freeze overnight, face down in the freezer, and that really helped it get cold enough so the liquid froze quickly once poured on. For my base, I blended whole milk, pistachios, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt, and the flavor and texture came out delicious. I used enough liquid to serve two people. It worked well, but I think using about half that amount next time would make rolling the ice cream even easier and give smoother rolls. That said, it still worked great and was a blast to make. This is perfect for a date night dessert or a fun activity with kids. Overall it’s easy to use, cleans up well, and makes dessert feel like an experience instead of just something to eat. This ice cream maker is so simple to operate! Just flip the plate over and freeze it for a day, take it out and set it on the counter, pour in your ingredients, mix, and use the spatula to roll up perfect ice cream.
