Very good; 2 little details shy of excellent
Simple to use and effective. I would suggest 2 small improvements 1) Stronger magnets; the current ones are adequate and work but I will feel better knowing that the knife is extra secure in position 2) the kit will be better with an additional very fine ceramic disk for de-burying and polishing. Recommended product, I will buy again as a gift to some friends. Read more
Magnets will not hold filet knives high enough for the sharpener to contact the blade.
Works well with wide kitchen knives but lacking enough magnets for narrow ones like filet knives. Read more
Friggin' LOVE this thing!
I've been a chef for 26 years... I have always sharpened my knives on my whetstone, but after having carpal tunnel surgery and surgery on my elbows, my hands are not as stable as they once were. Holding a perfect angle is not as easy as it once was either. I bought this sharpener on a whim, just to test it out and I gotta say, I'm very impressed. I used the stone wheel (or whatever it's called) just as I would a whetstone and the edge is just as sharp, if not sharper than it was doing it freehand. The video is misleading... do NOT rock the wheel back and forth I on the blade! That is not good for the edge. Put light pressure on the wheel going from handle to tip each time for best result. Other than that, I have zero complaints. Extremely easy to use, perfect size, and for the price it's totally worth it! I highly recommend to any chef or home cook to get one of these! Read more

I have bought dozens of stones, gadgets and gizmos over the years and by far, this is the best sharpening kit ever. Affordable, easy and safe to use. This is the Las sharpener you'll ever need. I have sharpened everything from scissors to my straight razor with this. Best shave I've ever had. It's very precise, has 5 different angle settings, and strong magnets with a rubberized bottom to prevent slipping. To think of all the money I've wasted on other products is embarrassing. Works very well, for larger knives. For short or thin knives the block is to thick and wide to sharpen the full edge. Would be nice if they made a version for such use. Read more
