Loving the look of quality wire mesh accessories, this wastebasket was a perfect choice. It's just the right size for a home office and fits under the new glass desk (also from Amazon) perfectly. What's particularly nice about both glass and open mesh is they lend the illusion and feeling of more space - an especially nice touch for small spaces. Rolodex has been making top quality products for decades - and although this may merely be a wastebasket they haven't skimped here one bit. The wire is coated with a shiny black enamel. There are no sharp edges or seams - a problem with lesser quality items with a similar look. Even the seam is welded perfectly and completely smooth. The base is well weighted so tip over isn't a problem and the little feet on the bottom keep raised a bit off the floor and level. The basket holds an ample amount of scrunched up papers. As a copywriter by trade I end up with lot's of scrunched up paper. The wastebasket matches my desk accessories perfectly - so although far from a center piece, it's a nice touch. It arrived in perfect shape, without a single dent or scratch. These baskets really do sell for around $30 and up - to find this here on Amazon for a mere $9.82 is an absolute steal. Plus if you're a Prime member, this item is eligible so two day shipping is 100% free. A great addition to any office - at an unbeatable price. Read more

I purchased four of these, and all of them arrived in perfect condition. The bottom is weighty enough that this basket stays firmly on the floor. The metal mesh is firm and heavy- it does not flex and it will clearly hold up well. I am using 2 of the baskets to make temporary activated charcoal filters while some home renovations are in the works. A smaller metal basket goes inside of this one, with the activated charcoal in between them. It accommodates a substantial amount of charcoal (depending on the size of the other basket, it takes anywhere from 20-40 pounds or so). If you decide to do this, too, then just be sure that your fan can pull or push air through the volume of charcoal. This is best for a circular fan. It would be hard to make it work with a box fan. It will not work at all if there is space for air to go around the charcoal, so if it is a bit much, then I suggest that aluminum foil may be used to line the basket the rest of the way. Great benefits to using all metal baskets like this are that it will not collapse under the weight of the charcoal, the mesh allows for the flow of air without drilling holes & saving a great deal of time in the set-up, and if the AC is to be re-charged, then this will tolerate the heat used to do that. Bigger than I expected, despite the fact that I read the dimensions. A 4 gallon bag doesn't use the full space of this trash can(still fits around the rim just fine), and an 8 gallon bag would likely be too big. This kind of trash can is likely to be used without a bag, though, so this may not be a problem for you. Quite simply a nice office trash can with strong enough sides that it should stay un-dented for quite some time. It was packed loosely in the box it arrived in, prompting my co-worker who dropped it off to say that it sounded broken(not knowing what was inside), but it survived the bumping around without a single dent. I bought this because I like Rolodex brand stuff, which I realize is kind of pointless, but that's why I chose this instead of a $2 walmart trash bin. I am leaving a review to say that this is very much worth it for a professional enviroment, where it won't be damaged, because of it's light weight design it can be used like a plastic bin as a dust catcher, or be moved easily, but it still has the feel of a quality metal bin. IF: you have kids or something around, this thing will dent fairly easily, and does not always pop back in to it's original form. Read more

This is a trash can, so it's nothing to get excited about. The price was the strongest factor influencing my purchase decision, as there were several similar-looking units available at more than double this price. I took an office job where the furniture and cubicles are all brand new, and for some reason, my cubicle did not have a trash can. This one looks fine in an office environment. The packaging was not the greatest as it was just one big plastic bag of air in large box with this can. So the can came with a bit of a wrinkle in it toward the bottom, but not really a big deal. It's a ten-dollar trash can. It is a good-looking unit. The black finish is somewhere in between glossy and flat...like eggshell or satin perhaps. If you are looking for something shiny or more silvery/metallic-looking, this is not the one. The wire mesh is not particular strong (that's where the shipping damage occurred), but it looks nice and you can easily see through the can. Pros: Lightweight, good size for cubicle or small room, good looks, great price Cons: Packaging (damaged in shipment), questionable durability At half the price of competing cans that look similar, I recommend this unit to anyone who has a need for an inexpensive trash can. This is a great stylish trash can. I was tired of having plastic things everywhere in my apartment, and decided to try to replace as much plastic as possible with metal, glass, and ceramic. The plastic old trashcan was one of the first things to go and was replaced by this nice mesh metal trash can. It holds way more trash so I hardly have to empty it, and it isn't an eyesore in my apartment any more. I dented it once by dropping it but the mesh was easily reshaped back into place. Only downside is that sometimes small items get stuck in the mesh, but it is worth it for the look and feel. High quality Read more
