I wanted a neoprene thumb brace to keep the heat in and to mildly compress the thumb area. People say this brace is hot, it is! But that's exactly what to expect from neoprene. There are other great braces out there that aren't as hot but I love the neoprene at times. As I have arthritis I bought the wrap one figuring its easier to get on. It is. If you size it right the straps are plenty long enough. I bought a large as I was between a medium and large for sizing. It fits great and I can wrap it tighter or wear it loose if wanted. I just bought one for my left hand just now too. Great brace. It does not entirely immobilize the base of the thumb, which I knew. I have other braces for that. This is nice warm support for when I'm not really using my hands but at bed or when relaxing. The thumb support is enough that it makes it more difficult to bend the thumb in, therefore its not a working splint for me. It's a nice relaxing one. Love it Read more
This is a good quality product and I've ordered it three times in the past. It helps keep paralyzed hand open and avoid damage from nails. (Note: it doesn't keep hand "open" by force of strength, but just by something being on the hand somehow helps with that.) They last a long time, but it is time to order a replacement, and I've received the wrong item twice now. First time it was sized for a baby. Second time it was the version with no velcro and large instead of medium. Also it was for the wrong hand. I would like to re-order, but how do I know if I will get the right item? Read more
I was pleasantly surprised at the support this provides. No complaints as to function. Knocked a couple stars, though, because (a) it gets really hot and sweaty, even when I’m sitting at my desk in my air-conditioned office; and (b) the straps are hard to get right because they’re so short and they don’t have a loop to wrap through like other wrist braces. Could be a phenomenal product with more ventilation and a more user-friendly adjustment setup, but I have to take it off frequently to let my hand breathe/dry, and then it’s a pain to put back on. But it appears to be the only product of its kind on the market (soft thumb support with Velcro instead of pull-on), so I’m glad it exists and I would happily buy again. Read more
This brace is well made and will last years. I know it's pricier than other wrist/thumb braces, but you'll note from the reviews on the others that they fall apart quickly. I purchased this one to replace one that I had for more than 10 years. I didn't use it continuously, but rather in spurts to protect my thumb while playing basketball after it got jammed. It reduces the severity of the impact should it get hit, allowing the injury to heal. I've uploaded some photos to show the quality of the stitching of the velcro binding. I've always put it on without assistance. Read more
Had a pair of these for many years and wore them out. So happy to find them still available. Neoprene holds in the body heat which along with supporting the thumb joint provides rest and pain relief. Woth every penny! I wash in a mesh bag with the velcro closed and then air dry. The warmth is good for arthritis pain. Read more
I have pain at the base of my thumb. I like the neoprene because the warmth produced when I'm wearing it is soothing. I purchased the Wrap that opens and is secured with Velcro so that I didn't have to pull the support on. I put the Thumb Support Wrap on my right hand as directed, and with the palm side down place my hand on my right knee (to keep the wrap in place). I can then secure the Velcro straps with my left hand. I'm very pleased with my Rolyan Neoprene Wrap On Thumb Support, Thumb Support. Read more
I purchased both the left and right thumb supports after having nerve release surgery in both hands. The supports do help remind me not to use my hands as much and to use them with care. I do think the portion that goes down the wrist along the forearm should be about 3" longer. While the support is tight because of the velcro straps, it can ride up toward the fingers. I am not a person with long arms or hands, so I think these would not be good for someone with longer arms or hands. Read more
