I am pleased with the Kiltie Western boot. I needed a strong durable boot for trail riding and hiking. I purchased first the Ropers Horseshoe “hiking shoe”. See attached pictures to show seams splitting. These took some time to adjust to my feet before they felt comfortable and did not last very long. I wanted to replace the “hiking shoe” boots and found the same Horseshoe brand but named “Kiltie Western boot”. I chose the kiltie boot because it doesn’t have a seam over side of toe area and am hoping they will last longer. The bottom treads appear to be identical, minus the dirt. The Kiltie boots seemed a little bigger but fits nice with a thick sock. Walking & riding in the Kiltie boots has been comfortable from the start. Years ago, I used to purchase these for my teenage daughter. She wore them everywhere. Fast forward to now, looking for a gift for her (now in her 40's) and looked on Amazon and found them. I ordered using the Try before buying, and am happy I did. I ordered her a 1/2 size larger than she normally as the reviews stated the shoe runs small. They were too big so I returned them and ordered her normal size. Happy to say they fit perfectly and she's so happy. I'll be ordering the chocolate colored boot next. Very happy. Edit: let’s in too much dirt. I just took off decorative tassel thing and see if that helps. Other than letting in annoying dirt I like them. I won’t but again if dirt continues to get in my boot. Sturdy comfortable shoes working on the ground or in the saddle. I was able to put my arch supports in them after taking out the insert they came with. These shoes are heads and tails above any other riding shoe I've tried. They are light, waterproof, super comfortable, sturdy in the saddle, supportive when hiking. I cannot say enough good things about these shoes, I want a pair in every color. Read more

I’ve been wearing this particular style of boots for horseback riding for years. They have good foot support, and they last longer than some other boots that I’ve tried. They are also really good for getting off and hiking, which I do quite a bit when I’m horseback riding. Read more
