Visually and functionally, it's exactly what I wanted, a round soap to fit in my lotus dish. It lathers abundantly and leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized. BUT as many have commented, the smell is not pleasant. Not too bad, and it doesn't linger on my hands or in my small bathroom, but the scent is off putting. Soap to me is a small luxury to enjoy on every level and I won't be buying again unless a different scent is offered. And it may be handmade but it came packaged in a Chinese language wrapper. This smells so good. It's a masculine scent, woody and earthy with hints of something sweet, and I'm addicted to it. I can't say I've ever smelled anything quite like it. The soap itself is a round shape that fits perfectly in my palm, it's great to hold in the shower. It also lathers really well and left me feeling very clean afterward. 6.56 at the time of review is quite a bit to spend on a bar of soap, but this is a lot nicer than most of the cheap glycerin bars I've tried. It really does feel like an artisan product and a real treat as opposed to an everyday utility item. Read more

This Grospe Roselle & Pear Wood Handmade Soap Bar doesn't lather a lot but it did easily clean off my makeup and rinse away. It left my face feeling clean but not dried out. I'm not crazy about the scent. I was expecting floral/fruity, on the sweet side, but this is sharp and dark somehow, masculine, but not in a hubba hubba way. This soap works well but I don't believe the scent is even closed to what's listed. Read more
