Is it weird to be in love with a trash can? For 7 years, I've been hanging on to my old trash can. I never really enjoyed my old trash can (I found it at Walmart and it was the cheapest one available) but I just cringe at the thought of paying $100 for something that holds trash! Well my old trash can was in pretty bad shape. It wasn't really tough to begin with and after 7 years of abuse, the handle had long broken off, the bottom was coming undone, but it still technically "worked". Well a few weeks ago I took the trash out and when I came back home my trash was gone, but so was my trash can. Now I suppose it's possible that someone stole my poor little trash can but I just don't see why when my neighbors have definitely got some better options. My best guess is that my trash guys decided that my trash can needed to go. Fast forward to the now, tomorrow morning is trash day and I'm a little excited. I took the trash out tonight because I can't bring myself to wake up at 5:00 am when my trash guys get here. I personally love that the trash can is yellow. I think it really stands out and if someone does try to take it I think it would be easy to find. Wheeling my trash out was so lovely! Granted I haven't had a handle on my old trash can in years, but I'm pretty sure it didn't feel this great. The handle is so sturdy and the wheels are big and it's just so easy to maneuver. And you really can't beat the price. At Walmart and Home Depot, the trash cans comparable to this size were almost double the price. Read more

Replaced my old Rubbermaid Commercial 50G. trash can after 20 yrs. of use. It fit perfect in my garage & rolled-out to the curb twice a week for all these years before it recently started showing cracks in the plastic on the bottom of the can. Went on a search at a few hardware stores to replace & found they were not selling Rubbermaid - although the 50G trash bin's they were selling were about 1/2 the price they just seemed cheep in comparison & had unusual deep bottoms. So happy that I found my old Rubbermaid trash bin on Amazon - ordered and received within 2 days - it look's identical - came ready to use & roll-out to the curb. Read more

Does the Job. I expected the material to be a bit better given the expensive price. The plastic feels a bit thin compared to other heavy duty trash cans. So far wheels haven't fallen off, hopefully they don't. Will report back in 6 months. Also would be nice if the lid clipped or snapped shut. I had to buy bungee ropes to secure lid over trash can so that rodents don't easily access the trash. Read more

Ordered this to replace an older trashcan that was falling apart. I believe this will work with the trash trucks that have the mechanical pick up tools although our trash service does not use this type (guys manually dump the trashcans) and I got the 50-gal size because of this. The 50-gal size won't get too heavy when filled w/kitchen trash. You could easily get 3, maybe 4 of the "standard" 13-gallon kitchen trash bags in this which should cover the needs of most households (assuming at least weekly pickups). The plastic seems very durable and impact resistant and also it is just the right thickness. Some of the large commercial grade trashcans have such thick plastic construction that the thing weighs a lot even completely empty. Most townships restrict the weight (I've heard 50lbs is the limit but 100% sure) so you don't want the trashcan itself to make up a large portion of that weight. Obviously this isn't a concern if you have the mechanical lifter to empty the trashcans...in which case I'd recommend the next size up in the Rubbermaid Commercial Brute lineup just because you can. I also like the large wheels on the trashcan. They make pulling it up over the curb very easy and although I don't have much grass to travel over, the wheels don't sink and manage the "off-roading" fine. The wheels are also quiet! Our old trashcan had cheap plastic wheels that were loud, slide easily even on the sidewalk, and weren't durable. This is the 21st century...if an ipad can facetime someone across the nation, a trashcan should have quiet wheels! Very pleased thus far. Oh, and the lid is hinged so it stays with the trashcan. This hinge point always seems to be the weakest link w/trashcans but I'm happy to report that this one seems unusually well attached. I just moved and didn't have a truck to buy a big trash can at the store, so I love that I was able to get this delivered from Amazon. This was not quite as large as I was imagining, but it does the job. We are a family of 5 living in this house, and we create quite a bit of trash. We have trash service that takes our trash twice a week, and I do not have problems with overflow. The size might actually be preferable since it will be much easier to clean this can. There is nothing worse than feeling like you have to climb inside a trash can to clean the bottom. This one will feel much less like I am trapped inside while cleaning it. The item is made of good quality plastic and the rollers on the back work well and have not given me any problems. We have had a couple storms and I have not had issues with it filling with water or wanting to flip over. I imagine if there was nothing inside it might want to flip over, but it is not so lightweight that I have issues in inclement weather. Overall I am very satisfied with the price, size, and quality of the item. Read more
