This is a lovely step-on garbage can, and I'm delighted that it is rather unusual. The metal construction is sturdy and lustrous; the plastic inner bin fits nicely. The size and shape are unconventional in that it is slightly smaller than other kitchen garbage cans, but it's easy to fit the garbage liner bag in the bin and not have anything hanging out. I heartily recommend this beauty. Read more

Sure, this is an expensive trash can - but it will likely never need to be replaced. Solid and well-made, and does exactly what you want it to do. Like the deep red color, which looks good and fits in well in my shop. If I needed another, I wouldn't hesitate to order one of these - these are the best. Read more

Love this!!!! I originally bought to keep my small dog out of the trash, and it worked!!!! She can't knock it over or open the lid!! I believe this will last forever!!!! One scary thing is I have a 1 year old and scared of her fingers.... Just make sure all fingers are away from lid when closing. It slams down fast when foot lever is released, small children should stay away from the garbage anyway!! Also when I put a 13 gal bag I need to tighten and twist bag to keep it tight around liner. I have a family of 4 and this trash can makes our life easier in every way!! Read more

If you order this trash can Sold and shipped by Amazon, you'll receive the latest version of this product which is now sadly made in China. As of at least May 2022, the pictures shown on this item are incorrect as they are for the previous, Made in USA version. The current made in China model some changes: They got rid of the holes on the pieces of metal which make up the lever. These holes were there because because with the previous model, you had the option to purchase a pneumatic dampener to turn it into a soft close lid. They newer version gets rid of that, so no soft close option anymore. The foot press pedal no longer has a rubber grip on it. While easily be remedied with some sandpaper, tape, or rubber pad with adhesive, I did not expect bare metal as that was not what was depicted. For what is essentially a pricey yet simple, all metal trash can, the welding and powder coating quality are lacking. Poor quality welds on the bottom piece and body. You can see evidence of poor power coating on the bottom of the trash can, as well as drip marks from a "touch up" done to get the product out the factory. Negatives aside, the red version looks great. The bad powder coating is on the bottom so it isn't normally visible and the worst looking welds (the inner bottom -- the part you see when you remove the liner) will rarely, if ever, be seen so it also doesn't matter too much. It's still a nice trash can overall -- really love that red powder coat -- but now that it can't be made soft-closing, doesn't have the simple, basic rubbergrip on the foot pedal, and is made in China in an attempt to save on manufacturing costs, I'm not sure the value for money is there. Value for money aside, the lid does indeed keep in odors for my trash and its sturdiness compared to something like simplehuman is unquestionable. We have one of those voice activated simplehuman kitchen trash cans and I much prefer this one. Read more

somethings crossed up here... so, when you pull up this product (as with many others) there is an option to select a size. I ordered size 12G (12 gallon) color red, which is described as 16x16x26 inches. Oddly, the next size up is not designated by gallon size but rather by dimensions: 23"x12"x12", which is the size of the can i received. In this one's description, it says it is also 12 gallon. How do two boxes with such different dimensions (one clearly larger than the other) both contain 12 gallons. Of course my first thought is that they sent the wrong size. However, although their are some differing EAN, UPC, UNSPSC etc numbers, the manufacturer model, part and series numbers appear to be the same... I say "appear" because I can't compare apples to apples (red to red). I can only compare the red 12G to the white 23"x12"x12". The numbers are the same except for last two letters: RD and WH, presumably for red and white. I still want the 16x16x26 if it exists- looks like a great, sturdy can- exactly what I'm looking for. I was just scared to set up a return/replace and have to go through this again... What do you think? Was I sent the wrong one and I should just re-order? Read more

I ordered the 12 gallon can first for my kitchen. I ended up returning it and getting the 25 gallon. I am using a 13 gallon liner, so I am not sure why this one is so small. Read more
