I had waited sometime to admit that I really did need a garbage can for the kitchen and finally ordered this one. It is great!! They said it was black. There is a strip of black around the top of the can below the lid and black is on the step on opener. The rest is aluminum and very nice. There were no dents or any damage to the can as it was packed so none of it touched the outside carton. The step on opener works beautifully. I was concerned about whether the lid would hit the wood side of the cabinet behind it. It did not! I put in what I wanted and took my foot of the opener and the lid closed by itself with a soft click. You do have to follow the directions and take the inner part out and remove the cardboard from the very bottom of the inside of the can. I do not have the exact size of the liner for it, but that is not a problem and I am just using one which is slightly large. This was a real treat for me! Try it!!! You might like it!!! Read more
If you are looking for a trash can to hold standard 13-gallon trash bags, choose the 8-gallon sized model. It is much closer in size to a "kitchen" trash can than the larger model that says it can hold 13-gallon bags (which is only marginally true, as the container is so large that the bags don't touch bottom and must be stretched taut to fit the rim.) Plus, the 13-gallon one is a monster for most kitchens (note the dimensions). That said, this is worth every penny! We wanted a well-made, attractive, lidded, pest-proof, odor-containing kitchen trash can, and this is is. It opens with your foot, closes without slamming, has a lid that fits well, doesn't scoot back when your foot is on the pedal, and can be cleaned with a cloth. The liner can be removed for sanitization (it would be perfect for diapers). If it seems expensive, ask: how much will this cost per use? If you use it every day and it lasts years, the cost is infinitesimally tiny. Don't waste your $ on plastic or on poorly designed stainless bins. Buy this. Read more
So great to receive a product of high quality. So many products are geared for the landfill in order to sell more of the same. This should last me years. Only two minor aggravating characteristics. 1: It's a tight squeeze to stretch the bag over the last corner, which could end up tearing the bag when putting it on or taking it off. 2: The huge label on the front of the can is not an easy peel-off label - took me 20 minutes with all my strength to pull it off and I had to use Goo Off to get some of the glue off. This trash bin is what it states to be. It looks and feels industrial grade quality and is also silent when opening and closing the lid. The only thing downfall is naking sure you put the trash bag correctly in so you can take it out easier. There are instructions on how to do so inside the bin when you first receive it. Read more
I was very pleasantly surprised that a garbage can can be both functional and elegant looking. I bought the silver color. It works easily, hands free and holds quite a lot for a kitchen garbage receptacle. I use ordinary kitchen plastic bags that slip in easily. Need to tuck the ends in to keep the bag secure. Only problem I have is removing the stick on label it came with, right on the front. Still haven't removed it. Read more

The product arrived in good shape and is attractive but it ended up not fitting in with our newly remodeled kitchen. I always check to make sure I can return items for free before I order them and I try to buy from veterans when possible, as advertised by this seller. I requested a return but it turned out not to be free and the cost of return shipping was almost as much as the product so I kept it and put it in our basement. I don't know if the return information was false or I misread it but I would suggest confirming with this seller in writing before you order exactly what the return policy is. Read more
